Just let a shooter or two develop. Run some outside shooter sets. Turn 'em loose now and then. Sometimes I think if Huggs were a football coach he would never pass the ball...or even sweep. Just pound...pound...pound.

Good luck with that. Be ready for him to leave 5 to 6 years if he comes.

He is 67.
Supposedly he sought out Texas in January instead of the other way around
There is one issue. Tristan Thompson. But most former players stick to the coaches they played for but Thompson really doesn't like Beilein on a personal level
Don't think it is enough to stop anything

Like I said a month ago Beilein most likely is heading to Texas.
I would put that at 90% likely
that's possible. with the makeup of the talent Texas currently has (I have no idea), along with Beilein having multiple styles over the years, it would be interesting to see how he would coach that team. Last few years at Michigan, they played really tough defense, mostly man to man, and ran the typical John Beilein offense of players cutting, going to the basket with the ball, and ultimately tossing it outside for the 3 point shooter. Works if you're a good shooting team, and have players willing to learn his system.

Texas has to be Goliath.
Beilein understands this.
Shaka Smart not so much.

This is pretty much what the AD said but without adding the names of the coaches.
Who really does is Donovan but he is going to stick in the NBA most likely.

Regarding Huggins...
He understands WVU.
I don't think there is a better person for the job.
This is a young team and I always said 2021 was the year. May end up only losing Haley.
WVU could be a legit Top 5 team next year.

Texas basketball has never, ever been Goliath...

They arent even a top tier program, let alone a blue blood.

When you recruit the way they do and put the players in the NBA you have to play like that.
Aren't getting players with something to prove.
You understand the difference.

There is nothing special about Texas basketball. It walks on the 3rd tier line.

You are just a jock-sniffing weirdo.

Coaches leave. Thats normal.

Or get fired. Or retire.

In 6 years he will be in his 70's.

I see him retiring in 2 to 3 more years.

Did you know there have only been 3 coaches stay 10 years or longer for WVU basketball?

Catlett 24
Frances Stadsvold 14
Bob Huggins 13

Schaus was here 6 years and the other 17 coaches stayed 5 years and less.

Lol, why even worry about the know nothings? Folks want to fire Roy Williams at NC, yeah, he suddenly forgot how to coach.
