KISS MY MAROON AND WHITE @$$, you sorry @$$ SOBs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been so tired of seeing your horrendous tirade on our coach and our team, so I hope you choke on your lack of a cowbell AND your lack of desire to see this team do good, all in the name of you not liking our coach. I have sat here and read day after day your disdain for all things Stansbury. We have one hell of a coach, and the best this school has ever had. Your comments have not gone unnoticed. So, look around the SEC, and look at the programs and coaches who are not going and also who are no longer in the league. STANSBURY is more of a coach than you have ever been or ever will be. And I think that rots your guts. If you want to coach in the SEC, or have a favorite of yours you want coaching in the SEC, tell them to head over to Alabama, and let Stansbury kick that @$$ too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thought he said if no NCAA next year Stans should be gone. So I will have to imagine C34 is cool with Stans now. Unless of course he says Stans got there the wrong year in a row or something.

Notice the haters aren't around right now. And you know he ain't nothing to do, b/c he's on this board more than anyone.
Nothing worse than a so called Bulldog that secretly cheers for us to lose so he can say I told you so.

Stans got so lucky... Surely he wasn't good enough to coach our team through four straight games

that he would be at the Alumni House watching the game.

And I don't think he was the only one on the board that said that if Stans didn't make the NCAA next year that he should be gone. I think that was the general consensus, that was also when we appeared to have imploded and that we we be lucky to get to the NIT this year.

Regardless, Stans just bought himself a couple more years.

if we don't make it to the tourney in 2010? Maybe C34 inside sources can shed some light on that?

no, he said we had no chance to make it this year, and IF we did not make it next year ( because he thought there was no chance this year) that Rick would be shown the door. Now, he realizes that Stansbury is in the dance, and is gonna probably NOT gonna be on the hot seat like he has been saying for months now.
That is what I cannot stand about him. He would rather us not be successful in order to validate his opinion.....that my fellow Bulldogs, is NOT a fan of the Bulldog Nation. That is just bull crap. I am gloating, you're dang right i am. And I think we all should. yeah, we hit a rough patch at the beginning and the middle of the season, but this team really is YOUNG. they hit a wall. and Rick Stansbury is a great enough coach that he righted the ship and got us a 3rd place finish in the reg season, and went on to win 6 STRAIGHT, inlcuding getting a little revenge against LSU and UT, and beat the other team tied for first in the East division, USC, so now he has proven that he has arguably one of the best teams in this league. We came into the tourney hot, and now we are carrying it over to the DANCE, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you think if wasn't spoutting so much **** about Stans can't coach anyone would have agreed to years to make the Dance. Hell, everyone but him probably figured we would get there easy next year anyway. This team has enough young pieces Stans would have had a hard enough time trying not to get them there next year with the way they have played at times this year. Outside of 2 tough OOC losses they would have been very close to at-large this year even with the minor implosion.

no , his job is not on the line. And the only people that I have ever heard say anything like that is the small group of people on here who were saying it.
Stans is OUR man for basketball, plain and simple.

So, we will now have both men's and women's teams in the DANCE this year. ! nice

and if Stansbury misses the NCAA Tournament for the next 3 seasons, that will have been 3 straight seasons where we didn't make the NCAA Tournament. And I hope we show his underachieving butt the door!!!!

With Varnado back next year, which is would say has a 75% chance of happening, I think we've got a good chance to go 12-4 and get a 5 seed or better. I think it's as safe a bet as you can get in MSU sports that this team will make the dance next year, and probably have a pretty good seed to boot

coach 34 is just an old fart no longer coaching, who can't get his lollies off any way but by trashing someone who obviously is a MUCH BETTER COACH than he ever could hope to be. Stansbury is a good coach. He preaches defense and tempo control. Yeah, it is fun to watch a team run up and down the floor and score a lot of points. But, Stansbury realizes that if you don't have strong defense, then you will get your head knocked off by anyone. this team had to learn that. and they wewre smothering ALL SEC TOURNEY LONG!!!! so, maybe, just maybe, he finally has a bunch of kids who are ready to listen to him and do the things he asks of them, and they will learn the game and reap the benefits. I can't wait to watch these kids over the next couple of years. They are getting better every day

too many people, including kids coming out of high school, want this run up and down and everybody score 20+ points a game. They bring this mindset from the AAU teams they are on about fast pace mind blowing scoring, and then they all get upset because they don't get the # of touches they did then. and they also have somone smothering them all the time. I am all for the style Rick teaches. Sure, it has some downsides, but so does everybody elses. And when it comes to clutch time, I will go with a smothering defense over a record setting offense any day of the week. I think that is what a lot of people don't like about Stans, but I don't see them continuing to have 20+ win season all the time. He recruits well. He tries to teach soundly. Yeah, there are some holes in the armor, but I think he only needs to find another good, young assistant to aid in a couple areas. And most good coaches need that occasionally.
You think about the kids he had signed that never made it to campus because of the draft. If those kids had been on campus, think of how much better we would have been over the last several years. Yeah, there has been attrition, but most teams have it, and I think it was a chemistry issue as well as a minutes issue. I think Sharpe and other left because they couldn't take the strick rules and teaching. I think the Delk twins left because of minutes. I think Hansborough wanted to be the point and also score more, plus he was a momma's boy. Yeah, that all falls back on Rick. but, you have to give him credit. through all of it, he has still been successful.
I believe this young team is finally underastanding that if they listen and buy into his system that they can do anything. And I hope we will do great in the Dance. I have no preconceived ideas on how we will do. I hope we can win at least two, but I just don't know. I think the fact they got there is a great feat, but let's hope we can make it a ways

SO AM I......just because I don't live out my life posting tons on a message board makes me any less of a fan. I paid my money to get my degree there, and I have worn Maroon and White my whole way through school. You won't find a bigger fan than me, or very few. He put the stuff out there and crammed it down our screens for weeks now, stating how bad Stansbury is, and how we had no chance of making the Dance this year, and that Stans should lose his job. Did we have some breakdowns this year?? yes. Did Stans make some mistakes? yes. does RS deserve to be anywhere near the hotseat??? HECK NO.
He has had 20+ wins for like, what, 8 of his 11 seasons. He has won more than any coach at our school. He is one of the best coaches in our league. And here is what he has done in the last 6 games:
beat UM and Andy K at the Tad Pad
beat #3 east Florida and Billy Donovan
beat an average Georgia team
beat the #2 east South Carolina
beat the #1 overall LSU and Johnson
beat the #1 east UT and Bruce Pearl

SOUNDS LIKE WE GOT ONE HECKUVA COACH. I THINK THE TIRADES BY COACH 34 RE CRAP!!

I am not coach 34, hell, I am not even 34 years old yet, and I bet I can take his cred as a coach and stack it under the shelf that I have to hold the accolades I have attained in my life. He is full of himself. If he knows half of what he thinks he knows about a sport, he would not have time to come on here all day every day and spot his mouth off. I usually read this MB at around midnight or so AFTER I have put in one helluva work day teaching and coaching, so please do not ever refer to me as that....you wanna ruffle my feathers, well done.
And for the other, just how many "men" are there on MSU's team????????? I consider that until they are out in the world making a way for themselves, then they are still kids. Rules be damned! you wanna kick me off here, go for it. I could really care less. Secondly, just how many of these "men" are over the age of 21 on the team?????? Maybe what, 3 or 4???? ........definitely no more than half the team. so, even though they may can vote, does not make them GROWN yet. That is the same crap that most coaches have to deal with on a yearly basis, and I get tired of hearing 17-22 year olds telling a coach or adult that they don't have to follow rules because they are GROWN. Rule 1 part b can kiss the lower half of my nut sack. Goodnight, good day, and GO STATE!!!!!!!!!!

Patdawg. Coach34 was cheering his a$$ off for the bulldogs. He said on this board that if RS didn't make it next year then changes needed to be made. He also said after winning the tourney that RS has just solidified his lifetime contract at MSU. Hell we are all happy, and should be, Stans is the man.

only when Ricky was forced into playing Augustus more when Bailey got hurt, thus spurring a 6 game win streak. Now we have a bench that not only eats up minutes, but can score and even increase leads (ask LSU about that). It was great seeing Augustus coming into the game before the even the 5 min mark of the st half yesterday.

If Bailey doesnt get hurt- that doesnt happen and we dont win the Tourney.

Coach34 says play Augustus more, it will make us better
Ricky plays Augustus alot more, we win 6 in a row.

Yeah, please get on me.

There c34 goes again, saying how we ONLY made it into the NCAA's b/c Rick started doing something C34 said we should be doing. Again finding any opportunity to take credit away from Stans.
Kodi isn't the reason we're in the tourney, he helps, but did he contribute that much more than Bailey would have in the last 2-3 games? I'm not sold on that.
Kodi gave us solid minutes, hit some big shots, but also made some bad decisions that cost us. Bailey doesn't turn it over or take bad shots.
Anyway, you're reaching to say that that we wouldn't have won the SECT w/out Augustus

Sorry whatever, but Bailey takes some pretty horrible shots. Not trying to be rude, but when Bailey attempts to do what looks like a hook shot it has no touch on it at all, he just launches the ball against the backboard in the hopes that it might go in. Kodi, on the other hand, has some nice low post moves, but I would rather him not try to drive the ball from the arc all the time, he is much better suited in the 4 position, but in the end Kodi takes much better shots than Bailey.
