Yeah, I'm not interested in comparing Kentucky basketball to f'n Arizona.
The toughest part here is we all like him as a person, but he just does not have a killer instinct to coach here. We play soft, stand up straight, lazy defense.
Players are at this age are still basically kids, if you don't make them work then they will probably take an easy path. These guys look like any playground basketball kid, they just want the ball to shoot and Pope never yells at them.

In some back-and-forth DMs he finally confessed to me he's a huge wrestling fan and is a troll.
I thought it was strange his name is "Monday Nitro" but yet he claims he hasn't watched wrestling since the 90s and doesn't really know much about it. That'd be like someone naming themselves "TonyHawkFanBoy" on here and then acting like they haven't followed skating for the last 30 years and don't really know anything about skating at all.
He then said he didn't even know who the Nasty Boys were. So this guy watched wrestling in the 90s but had never heard of the Nasty Boys? Those dudes were huge in the 90s. That makes no sense at all.
But the kicker was when he later he made some post referencing an "Elimination Chamber" match. I looked it up and the first Elimination Chamber match was in 2002. Apparently this a match where they put as many dudes as possible inside a cage and let them roll around on each other for half an hour.
So I pressed him on his lies and he broke down and confessed he LOVES wrestling. His favorite move is something called "The Steiner Recliner" and he'd make his friends put him in it all the time. Apparently the move is that he would be laying down on his stomach while his friend would straddle him, put their hands under his chin, and then raise his head up underneath their balls.
So, the truth is out. He admitted that he even hates Pope but he hates the fans even more so that's why he enjoys trolling so much. Pretty sad.

Remember, it’s not ip to you and nobody can accurately predict the future negatively or positively.
The bottom line is he’s getting a third year and all the conplaining in the world won’t change it.

I must ask what makes this team/coach in your eyes worse than Rupp’s 1967, Hall’s second season (.500), 1987, 1989 (Sutton’s 13-19 team), 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2021 (9-16) and 2023?
I always enjoy the perspective from older fans. My parents are both 80, both 1968 UK grads, season ticket holders for football and men’s basketball since the respective venues opened and season ticket holders for women’s basketball for the last 25 years. I was fortunate enough as a kid/teenager to see the 1996, 1997 and 1998 title games in person and attended every SEC Tournament from 1993-2000. I also had the misfortune of attending every UK/UT football game home and away from 1987-99. All losses.
I was talking to my dad after the game last night and asked him if this was the worst UK team he’s ever seen. He laughed and said “not even in the top 5, maybe top 10” and listed some of the teams I mentioned above. He said he hopes Pope works out but it’s not looking good before ranting about his real passions - how NIL and referees are ruining the college game.
I love pro wrestling and don’t care who knows it. I know it’s scripted. So are movies. I also like movies.
I don’t really like people who crap on things others like just because they dont like them too. I don’t like country music or romance novels, but don’t care if someone else does.
Completely agree. I also hate that it’s always some post about the Nasty Boys or something. Good pro wrestling exists. I’d love for these people to watch Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom and tell me that isn’t two very impressive athletes.
My big picture is to give our coach a full season with a full team and see how it goes. At this point, it's impossible to know if he can be successful or not. Your lame attempts at insulting anyone that does agree with your opinion shows us a lot.

You're allowed to defend Pope, but calling out other fans for being frustrated with legitimate concerns about Pope as a coach, while calling us bad fans makes you look stupid. Most of us don't like you because we don't agree, you call us bad fans.

Other than Pope not having such volatile substitutions. I wish a pumpers to tell me one offensive set or defensive adjustment Pope made to win this game. All I could see was two pick and rolls with Garrison and the players recognizing Mo had a mismatch and fed him in the post. Pope just clapped and said next play, next play. Our sets are terrible and our defense is worse.
