Good news. There was speculation that he was going to decommit but obviously this means that we're still good with him.

FWIW, I saw a post from someone on another board that his recent tweet "Life Decisions Coming" (something like that) was actually about something personal not related to football.

It's clear that Stoops is bringing in more talent than we're used to seeing, but so far we're not seeing the payoff.

I know Stoops said his goal was compete for SEC Championships here, but the fans who have bought into that are too unrealistic in how long they think it will take. As a basketball fan I expect to compete for Championships because that is our existing "normal", but as a football fan I expect to go 4-4 or better yearly in the SEC as our NEW "normal". If that happens I will be extremely happy!

Were not seeing the payoff due to the lack of depth and talent when a Stoops arrived. A lot of players that needed to redshirt weren't able to due to the lack of talent. Redshirting is a very important part of building a good football program. With it players are rushed they don't get that extra year to adjust and adapt to college life. Another year to practice against stiffer competition and learn the schemes and play book. They lose a year to focus on getting stronger. Playing a year earlier means not as mature and even though its just practice a extra year of practice. And a major thing people have seemed to forget is Joker didn't recruit well at all and Stoops first class was compiled of a lot of Joker recruits.

Jeff Drummond recently said that Tobias is the best cover CB he has seen in years! This kid is the real deal and another solid piece to our secondary, which is the strongest unit on our team (no surprise since this is Stoops specialty).

So, is there any chance that a certain DB coach might decide that it is a bad time to switch to a program that most think is better because he actually has better talent to coach here and would enhance his reputation more by staying?

When the staff went out recruiting right after the louisville game, their first order of business was to visit the committed players and reaffirm their commitment. I think it's good when they are able to get some of those players to take to social media and post things like this to help reassure the rest of the recruits who miht be on the fence.

Yes we had a bad season, things didn't go as expected, but we have to keep recruiting at a high level if we ever want to solidify that foundation. Yes we have some coaching areas that need to be fixed as well, but we also can't give up on things so fast just yet. Glad to see Gilliam is sticking with us and glad we have so many coming in early to participate in spring practice. That's a positive step.

I really am amazed that OSU did not offer this kid. Both him and Kash have a swagger and nastiness on the field that this team seriously needs more of.

I think there is a strong possibility that we lose all 3 of our DB commits.

Please elaborate as to how you developed this belief. Have you talked to them, their parents, and their coaches personally to form the basis for the belief? Just curious because if you have the inside info, pleas share it with us.

If Ansley goes to Georgia, Jordan Griffin goes with him.

Davonte Robinson is starting to get serious attention from an elite SEC program.

Michigan State is about to amp it up on Tobias Gilliam.

I'll be thrilled if UK can hang onto one of these guys.

Those are three plausible scenarios, especially the first one. I guess we're going to find out which of our recruits are "all in", which ones are going to get other "better" offers, etc.

IIRC the 2014 only had one de-commit, while last year's class approached double-digits. The buzz surrounding the UK program has pretty much faded away. I hope we can hold most if not all these commits. As we get deeper into the recruiting season with the truly Official Visits, we'll find out who's in and who's not.

BTW, next weekend(Dec 11-12) is a big recruiting weekend for UK.

Way to take a worst case scenario the sky is falling approach and speaking about it like its gospel. We really don't need this kind of negative crap on the boards that recruits read.

Could each or all of the scenarios you describe come to be? Yes. But that by no means makes it probable. Especially to lose all three recruits. If this is your standard attitude i suggest you go kick the dog and stay off the internet.

You didn't like that? Well, chew on this.

Gilliam isn't the only UK defensive commit that MSU is targeting.

I predict that Gilliam goes to East Lansing along with a current DL and LB commit.

UK not making a bowl and MSU making the CFB Playoff and going into Columbus and knocking off the defending champs is causing a major sea change in Ohio recruiting.

^ FWIW, MSU already has 4 DL committed. They currently have 2 high 4 star DE's, a 4 star DT & a 3 star DT. I don't think that they have any room for another DL.

Also, MSU is getting close to full & our DL, LB & DB commits could have picked MSU long before now if they had really wanted to,

Irregardless, Stoops says that this class is solid. The recruits say that this class is solid. Tobias says that he is solid. Therefore, I don't share your "the sky is falling" opinion.

Besides why not come to UK and play in the exact same D scheme as Oklahoma (maybe the best team in the playoffs) and also get to play in the SEC?

There are people in Ohio that think Gilliam is the best DB we've signed out of Ohio. Better than West, Edwards, and McWilson. Tobias is very underrated there's no way he should be a 3 star player

I can buy that even though Edwards looks like he will be downright outstanding before his UK career is over.

All three corners are legit top 250 type players. Don't care what their rankings are. And it is imperative that we can keep them. MSU will be trying to poach multiple commits, while I wouldn't be surprised to see Georgia go after Griffin, not to mention other schools. Same with Robinson.
