I'm hearing that he is having some problems with fluid on the knee. Can anybody confirm? Also hearing that the development of Ben Beckwith and Justin Malone is easing the staff's mind about the right guard spot if Tobias is unable to play much. I'm assuming he will be used in practice and games very judiciously.

If there was ever a legitimate need for a golf cart on our campus, hauling Tobias around would be it. Under no circumstances should he be allowed to support his own weight except during workouts, practice, and games, and maybe not the first two.

Is anyone surprised by this? Seriously, he's got to be one of the most fragile players to ever put on a uniform for Our State. As I've said before, I think you have to take a Bob Sanders approach with Tobias: it's a nice bonus when he's healthy & available, but never count on him being healthy & available. Always make sure you have someone else ready to go without him.

I am friends with and coach a pee wee team with Tobias' Dad, and I can assure you he is fine. There has been some fluid build up and some soreness but it was 100% expected. He feels better everyday and is ready to go.

I expect him to only play a few drives against JSU assuming we get a lead. It would be nice to get some younger guys expereince, but there's no sense in risking Tobias. Let him rest for Auburn.

Thanks for the info. I had heard about the fluid, but wasn't sure if that was expected, or wasn't sure of the severity.

Assuming we get a lead? After the first quarter the only that should still be up in the air is what we want the final score to be. If that is not the case then we may have more to worry this season about than fluid on Tobias' knee.

Had a LSU DL not hit his leg from the side (not intentional) at his knee while he was engaged on a block, he's probably fine today. He had ankle issues early on in his career at State, but had been doing well in 2010 and up to the LSU game in 2011. Hopefully he's back and able to contribute.
