Well, hmmmmm. We are more than 24 hours removed from Saturday's game and I still don't really know what to say.
Frustrated?
Does that cover it? Probably not…but I'll stick with it for now.
There are many questions that need to be asked… read the message boards and you'll find a long list of them. Actually, that isn't true. The list is rather short… just consistent. When will the MSU offense show signs of a step forward? What has to be done in order for improvement to be seen? Who is accountable for the lack of productivity?
Those are the questions the fans have. Sure there are others, but they all revolve around offensive productivity.
The questions that MUST be asked deals with the coaches and coaches alone. It is time to take that long look in the mirror and ask…What are we missing? What can we do differently?
I'm not just talking about different play calling. I am talking about reaching the players. What can be done to help the players better understand what their assignments are? The greatest system in all of football isn't very good if the players don't know how to execute it a high percentage of the time.
Week in and week out, player execution is given as the reason for lack of production. If this is the case… why is there a lack of execution? Is the system too complex? Do they not understand what is being taught? Are they not practicing in a productive manner? Or are the plays not being called in the correct manner?
The coaches must ask these questions and find the answers.
I'm not off the bandwagon! I just think it is time to see some results. I'll be in Atlanta this weekend and ready to cover the Bulldogs. There are many of you that will be there with me and many more that wish their schedules would allow you to join us.
Saturday night is a great example of the fact that the Bulldog Nation is alive and well… the crowd was strong. State fans aren't down on their Bulldogs they just want the best for their University, their team, and to have pride knowing that they left it all on the field.
