Today's game was disgusting in every way...

imaginable. I sat with my brother-in-law right behind the Mississippi State bench. First, him and his Ole Miss friends actually gave me pity. Nothing worse than people feeling sorry for you about your football team.

The lack of emotion was the most troubling of it all. I can take getting our *** handed to us by a better team in every phase of the game, specifically coaching, because that is clearly what happened to us . When Ole Miss scored their first TD, the defense came off the field and there was no bitching, no yelling, no looking disappointed. I started yelling at them. After the field goal, they seem like they won that drive. People smiling, enjoying themselves. The 2nd TD, Brandon Cooper was the only player to look visibly upset. He was yelling at the D. That's when I proceeded to lose it. It was just sickening to watch.

And the offense, holy ****. 56 plays and 34 yards (isn't ironic that Coach34 won his bet with 34 yards?) Our QB's had no chance. Poor little Tyson Lee just had no chance. You know how in youth football, the fat kids can't play RB or QB. That's the league our OL needs to be in because those are the only defensive lineman they can block. On one play, I saw Greg Hardy lined up over Saulsberry. I told my brother-in-law, watch this, this is going to get ugly. Saulsberry did the ole (not Ole as in Ole Miss). Of course, Hardy caused it all but it was just so easy to spot. And I don't fault a player like Saulsberrry. As HD6 has said, he should not even be playing. He might turn out to great but to be out there right now is not only a disservice to the team, it's a disservice to Quentin himself.

All in all, as we have said, Greg Byrne....IT'S TIME. I know you don't really call the shot but if there is one time you need to don your fundraising hat, this it it.

That last sack by Hardy was in no way Saulsberry's fault. Lee didn't see (over the line of course) a wide open receiver running a 4 yard special crossing pattern, and he decided to roll out to the right where Saulsberry actually had Hardy blocked. All he had to do was peel off the block and plant Tiny Tyson in the turf.

Absolutely sickening that we have a 5th year offensive NFL coach that can't figure out an offense that can actually complete a downfield pass. With McRae facing a very long recovery and a questionable return to football, we return what, less than 20 catches between Clark and Robinson and probably 2 quarterbacks with zero confidence. I don't care who it is, but I'd much rather see a coach come in with a new scheme than to let Crooms have another shot at a 6th year of inept offensive production.

there's no way he sticks around another year after that. if he does, y'all need to seriously consider the direction of your program. i obviously wish it would've been closer, to ensure another year of croom. and if you polled every coach in the SEC, they'd say the same thing. unfortunately for us, he has to go now.

in the Egg Bowl IS truly disturbing. I know Croom's personal emphasis is likely Alabama and we seem to be ready there but this year against Ole Miss we lose 45-0 and look flat as a pancake and last year (against the worst UMiss team in recent memory) we go into the 4th quarter down 14-0 looking like we don't care. Only Orgeron's inexplicable 4th and 1 attempt with the 14 point lead seemed to energize us in the nick of time after we had been thoroughly dominated for 3+ quarters.

play UM. In 2005 we were very motivated and whipped them. Last year we didn't show up until the 4th quarter.

It would be the fact that he caused me to have pity on MSU today. Several Ole Miss fans I spoke with today felt the same way, they felt bad beating MSU the way we did.

I agree with DS, pity is the worst thing a rival fan can give you about your team. I remember in 2005 playing against LSU and hanging out with several LSU fans that night, and while they were beating the **** out of us, several LSU fans were asking me if I wanted to change the channel, and that we didn't have to watch the whole game. I remember asking them why they didn't want to enjoy watching them beat the crap out of us, and they said that the game just didn't seem fair.

For the first time in my lifetime, I actually felt that way today, and though I hope Croom stays at MSU, he should be fired for evoking pity from your in-state rival.

That being said, Derrick Sherrod really wanted to be somewhere else today.

On top of all that happened, because you had to bring LSU fans into this. I got several calls from corndogs today offering their condolences to me, of course they hadn't lost yet at the time and I didn't return the favor.

You know we suck when I get sympathy from rebs and corndogs the same day for State losing a game.

This blows I liked it better when they would at least have heated arguments with me when discussing our teams play.
