Roast Beef Po-Boy from Pirates Cove when it was on the beach. I went to the new location and it just depresses me.
Shrimp Po-Boy from Tony's in the Quarter
Seafood Po-Boy from Rocky and Carlo's

My favorite is the BBQ shrimp from Liuzza's By the Track

Fried seafood will be good anywhere

Go with Parasols or Parkway for the Roast Beef.

Also, there is a place in the east on the lakefront that has what they claim to be the cochon de lait po boy that is served at jazz fest. It doesn't quite tasted as good as the one at JF, but it will work when JF isn't going on. I can't remember the name of the place though.

I used to love the shrimp po-boy atGood Time Deli in Jackson(Ridegland). You could have a whole side dinner of shrimp that wouldn't fit on your sandwhich. Last time I wasin Jackson I tried to go be and they weren't there anymore which sucked.

Oby's has a good shrimp po-boy too.

1. BB's Seafood Combo (Ocean Springs)
2. Bozo's Shrimp (Goula)
3. Shrimp and Oyster (Acme, NOLA)

Those are my "must haves" when visiting the coast.

I tried it once based on people raving about it and was terribly disappointed.

The best ever was a crabmeat po'boy at JJs in Pascagoula. My best friend's dad owned the place and that sandwich was heaven.

My Nola list:

Parasol's - Roast Beef
Parkway - Hot Link Sausage with Debris gravy
Parkway - Fried Shrimp (whoever said fried seafood will be good anywhere is wrong. The shrimp poboy at parkway is money everytime)
Cooter Brown's - Radiator Special (Fried shrimp and oysters, topped with a ton of melted cheese)
Don Phuoog - Vietnamese Po Boy (absolutely incredible: spicy pork, carrots, cilantro....divine.)

The Cochon de Lait is my favorite type of poboy. If someone has it on the menu, then that's what I'm ordering. The one sold at Jazzfest is the best, although I did have a damn good one from the Boucherie tent at FQ Fest.

Guess we have the same taste in poboys. So did it just move or go out of business? I usually try to hit that and Kiefer's up when I get back home...and maybe some Cindy's for Sunday lunch or dinner one night. Cindy's is gone out of business now too, so it's really gonna suck if one of my other spots is no longer around too.

I always liked Good Time Deli's po-boys because they're 5 minutes away from my house. Damn shame they closed up.

Purchased/bulldozed by casinos? I remember they had a damn good oyster po-boy and incredible comeback sauce. That was many years ago...

got purchased by a casino, maybe the beau, maybe lady luck before the beau, can't remember. They moved to Ocean Springs, but not on the water. Didn't last too long after that. I think that building turned into a Mexican place for a while.

Everyone has listed great sandwiches, of course places like Mothers are going to be top vote getters. I know Newk's is a chain and all, but there is something strangely addictive about the Q. I think they might lace the white barbecue sauce with something.

The Q and the Italian are 2 of the best sandwiches I have ever had - they are really well done.

... but the shrimp or oyster po boy at the N'awlins Cafe in Clinton is plenty good for those of us that don't get into po boy country very often.
