Here is Zeb with Joey Bachmann too

With Joe saying that he is still cutting weight to get to 150, this makes me to believe he will be 157/165 in college. Plus he is still young and maturing, so though he may look like a smaller 150 lber, he has much room to grow into the middle weights.

I’m thinking he will be 165 in college but let’s see. @Corby2 what weight do you think he will be?

Iowa State is all over him right now
Confused Thinking GIF

Recruiting Violation indeed. Only a sophomore.

What do you think Joey is weighing right now? Still looks closer to 144 than 150. Either way though its been a great showing for moving up a weight. Can he keep it close with bassett?
He looks like a kid who has barely hit puberty yet, and has looked smaller than all his opponents so far. Bo is older, bigger, and looks like he’s almost through puberty. If Bachman doesn’t get run over, it will be good for him.

We can’t afford to lose this guy also to IASt unless we have Howard wrapped up, and he’s probably PSU’s. Can’t let Dresser snatch 2 guys we want and need away from us in back to back recruiting classes.

It’s good that him or his brother are not physical specimens or very mature looking for their age. Means they are winning with wrestling skills mostly, and if they do mature into more impressive stronger specimens in early college they can really jump levels again.

Kenny can’t finish a takedown and loses
Don’t know how he didn’t get the takedown on that slide by. Burnett shouldn’t have been in the finals. He shoved his hand in the kids mouth with 20 seconds left and claimed he bit him, refs fell for it and DQ’ed other guy when ahead with 20 seconds left. He’ll fit in well at PSU.

I guess he would be third best option at that weight, but don’t know how close he is in skill to Howard and Heeg. Thought we may have better chance with Heeg being close to Iowa and Howard’s clubs seems to send all their elite guys to PSU.

Israel Borge loses his finals match too. Both Raneys won their matches. Let's go Bachmann.

Tough losses for Borge and Kenny. Love the fight in both of them. The future is still bright!
Kid was able to hang on his leg during most of his ride out. Him and Kenny in heart breakers. They are not bad scramblers but need to get a little better at finishing those shots they get in on to avoid crazy scrambles. I know fans like scrambles, but Brands prefers to finish shots fast and decisive. I seen them doing some of these one on one sessions where they encourage our guys not to go straight to rolling around as you’re primary defense.

The kid dropped to his leg the first time in OT and the ref called a stalemate. Why not call stalling on that? Same thing happened and the ref called stalling. Should have been a point.

That was such a joke. I'm not saying Bassett wouldn't have won anyhow, but that ref was a fricking idiot and a dickhead. And the crowd knew it just like the other two officials knew it.
He was going to force Joe to wrestle Bo’s match. It looked like a man against a boy, so Joe could tell he wasn’t going to have the strength or endurance to hang with Bo for 3 periods, and the ref wasn’t going to let him do anything to slow down the pace or ride Bo. I think they said Joe wrestled 120 at Ironman last year. Crazy jump. Joe was ahead for After the first with a nice slide by I missed with the ref standing in front of the camera. He was in on a nice double later in the match, but not close to being strong enough to finish. Did better than I thought. We all knew he wasn’t at Bassett’s level yet. Every time I see Bo wrestle I think there isn’t a coach in the country better suited to coach his style than TnT. Kid made the right decision, then flushed it down the toilet.

Agree, and he was on that leg for a long time. Thought they were just going to let him get drug around the mat hanging on his leg all 30 seconds. Borge showed some great defense and athleticism in that match. Other kid is going to Pitt I guess. Borge will develop better in our room.
