even though the run production hasn't really shown but if that is indeed true and it continues, those balls should eventually start dropping..

any particular players you've noticed this from? I noticed some pretty well hit balls yesterday but went right to the Vandy players.. could you elaborate a little more specifically on this or is it just an overall observation on your part?

it may be that most of our players are first year starters and are gaining some confidence at this point... if our bats get decent and pitching stays true to form, we could get to Omaha... I had a bad feeling when we went the last time and sure enough we got our asses kicked soundly and went home fast... if this team makes it, I want have that feeling coming in like I did last time

thanks again for the info you share with us...

Sure he had a rough day against LSU, but he did have the game-winning hit. Against Kentucky he drilled 3 balls right at the right fielder so it looks like he doesn't have a problem going oppo. Sure wish he had been healthy all year. <div>
</div><div>Also, a smaller park will help Renfroe, he hit some long ones this week that Regions Park held.</div>

of Frost. We faced some great pitching in the tournament and while most of the time we made contact was a pop up, that is much better than where we were a few months ago. At this point, Frost is the only player that I dread stepping up to the plate with runners on base.

confidence going up to the plate right now. Everyone else seems to have caught on and likes to swing the bat but he like to watch strike one and two go by and then he will swing. Just my personal opinion from watching the games.

He has been lights out at 2nd base and struggled a little from 3rd but his play at 2nd base has been top notch.

Glad to see him work his way out that prior slump

Henderson, Frost and Renfroe are the most noticable to me.

Also, you look at the box scores- we're striking out less and walking/getting HBP more.

It's still a work in progress as far as the hitters go, but I do see progress.

at the plate would lead to the end of us getting starters into deep pitch counts early in the game, like we were early in the year. To my surprise, we are still getting deep into the count a lot and we are striking out LESS. I've even seen Mitch Slauter start swinging at some first pitch fastballs where he was taking til 2 strikes all year. This could benefit us big in the Regional, because we have learned how to make pitchers work, but if they see that and start throwing more strikes early in the count, we're beginning to make those adjustments and make them pay for throwing early fastballs.

Henderson has been making great contact, and Slauter and Rea seem to be realizing that they have great power up the middle and to right field. All that to say, I completely agree that we are making better contact and starting to make great adjustments at the plate.
