Per BDJ, we have a new baseball commit in Corey Dickerson of Meridian CC. Your thoughts? Was he the one who had ridiculous numbers out of Brookhaven Academy?

He played high school baseball at Brookhaven Academy, but he put up ridiculous numbers at Meridian CC. He was drafted by the Rockies in this years draft, so I hope he's not using us for leverage. He has good size, he's 6'3" and he hit 15 home runs last year for Meridian.

I think that if he comes he could fill a big need as a corner OF.

You might be thinking about Kolby Byrd, a recruit from last year that played at BA.

I didn't think Corey was a qualifier out of high school due to academics? He will be the first to tell you that studying is not his thing so I think he may still sign. Are they talking about getting him for 2010 after another year at Meridian?

If he comes to MSU, because he has said that he will go back to MCC for another year if he doesn't take the money from Colorado.

He could be our Runey Davis of this class, because he will be draft eligible again next year.

I didn't know about his academic prowress, or lack thereof. Tyler Moore went a very similar route a few years ago. At the time, I was afraid Polk wouldn't recruit him because of it.
