It's that time of year when our baseball coach experiments with lineups. And as usual, there is some tweaking to be done. My biggest beef- hitting Adam Frazier third.

Let's try:

1. CT Bradford CF
2. Adam Frazier 2B- I think he handles the bat well
3. Daryl Norris 3B
4. Trey Porter DH
5. Wes Rea 1B
6. Hunter Renfroe/Brandon Woodruff- RF depending on the pitcher
7. Mitch Slauter- C
8. Matthew Britton- SS
9. Brent Brownlee- LF

I think I have pretty good balance throughout that lineup. I like Brownlee at nine because of his speed, but he seems to be free swinger at times. I would have him at two, but I think Frazier handles the bat better and makes contact a little more consistently. I almost want to put Rea at three or maybe even Renfroe and see if they get some pitches to hit in front of Trey Porter. And then you have an experienced hitter in Daryl Norris following at least for now our hottest hitter in Porter. And back to Brownlee- having a fifth year senior behind Britton might get him some pitches to hit as well.

But to me 5-8 are interchangeable right now. All of those guys put some pretty good swings on the ball. We'll just have to wait and let things settle over the next couple of weeks. We have the chance to be a pretty solid offensive team once some of the young guys get a few more AB's under their belts.

why Demarcus Henderson hasn't gotten a chance to play yet? Is he still recovering from the eye issues or is it disciplinary or have the coaches just quit on him already? Seems to me he has a lot of talent and a true FR in Britton shouldn't be jumping ahead of him.

Also, how the heck is Stark not in your lineup? I know Brownlee is better defensively, but I don't see him holding up a full season as a full time starter. Plus, Stark's bat is already better than Brownlee's, imo. I think the best chance for Brownlee to help us is to play the Jaron Shepherd role, i.e. start once a weekend and be a late inning defensive sub when we're ahead. Love the guy, but injury history says he's much more likely to hold up in a lesser role than playing every game.

us was a couple of bad hops at SS... once cost us an out, the other cost us a DP opportunity.<div>
</div><div>Our hitting with RISP is really what concerns me. Porter absolutely shredded their pitchers and was the MVP in the hitting category. Wes Rea was very consistent, too. We are still having trouble finishing on offense... in at least 5 innings that I recall from yesterday, perhaps more, we stranded RISP with less than 2 outs. A couple of times we left the bases loaded with 2 outs. Now, I know we are going to come across pitchers who can and will pitch their way out of jams, but we HAVE to get better at being opportunistic. I'm glad to see us not carelessly stealing second, but with RISP (particularly second and third) with 0 or 1 outs, you have to expect we can bat those guys home. That was really my only concern from this weekend. </div>

I knew he couldn't be redshirting. It's well-documented that we redshirted him last season because of his eye problems. Plus, with the rule changes for the medshirt a few years ago, he wouldn't be able to apply for that until after his SR season. Can't wait for his suspension to end, I'm ready to see what he's got.
