Something about Jojo Domann that I really like. I think he's gonna be a good one.

any news to go with this...or just a gut feeling you had to get out?
i can keep up somewhat, but miss some things.
Was announced that he will not RS. I'd expect him to play on special teams right away and be competing to replace Gerry next year.
id like to see him do more than st's burn a shirt, but maybe he'll get some mop up time to make it worth his while...

He will get a few looks on defense IMO. He's going to play on all the special teams more than likely.
May not see the field other than on special teams this year. He's just a good football player. He just has to find a spot down the road where he'll be able to earn a starting role.
He's a bigger version of Jordan Westerkamp, and not because they're both white dudes... lol.
JoJo is about 2 inches taller with longer arms and the frame to add about 15 more pounds than Westerkamp. But athletically they're very similar with terrific instincts and vision. JoJo is better suited for defense because he plays with an edge of nastiness.
You could even say he's a little dirty. He always takes the proper route to the ball. He doesn't waste energy, and is fundamentally sound when tackling a ball carrier.

Gotta put your best guys out there in all 3 phases while not wearing out your starter. If he's a difference maker on kick teams, I want him out there.
Totally agree! There are no guarantees going forward. If a kid can help you from day one, you get him out on the field.
Anyone who watched the Purdue debacle last season knows Nebraska needs more athletes out there on special teams. It gives the main guys some rest, but it also allows you to "flex your depth muscles" as well. I like having some Varsity guys play some special teams roles, but they can't fill every single role.
You also are not going to be able to land elite recruits if they see that you never let true freshmen play. There are schools that will get those guys on the field in year one. You can be one of them, or you can watch them commit elsewhere.

In Bob Stoops presser Tuesday, someone asked him which freshmen were going to be available this weekend for the Houston game. Paraphrasing here, but he said they will all be available. That it does the team no good to redshirt large portions of classes anymore. Off the top of his head, He rattled off a handful of players they redshirted, that ended up leaving before they played 4 seasons and asked what good did that do us.
Playing Lamar Jackson and Tre Bryant on meaningful snaps won't go unnoticed by the 4 and 5 stars on campus for visits.
