Point spread leads me to believe the guys in the desert think he's going to play and be fine. I find it difficult to believe personally, but that line is weird considering our QB situation, and by that I mean precarious QB situation.

I have to think TA not playing vs. Maryland was in large part in hopes he can go vs. Iowa. All depends how well his hammy recovers by gametime.

I have to think that the staff is weighing options. Most of the NU fan base doesn't expect a miraculous TA return for IA. We have 9 wins in the bag.

The staff may gamble with Darlington at Iowa and save TA for a bowl win. The other option is they roll TA out for Iowa, and he potentially hurts himself further flushing the off season down the toilet.

Darlington reprising the Matt Turman role of yesteryear. What about letting DPE operate out of the wildcat?

I'm lost. Is Fyfe hurt? Why are we talking about gambling with Darlington? Also what is this talk about "further flushing the off season down the toilet" - what is flushing the off-season?

This post confused me because I feel like I'm missing out on news that would lead to this.

As much as I'd love to see what ZD can do, I don't see it working out well on the road. We need Tommy.

Fyfe broke his non-throwing wrist.

Yah Fyfe is hurt, and there are some rumblings around the web that TA is done done. Like won't even be ready for a bowl game done. Cornicator had posted on the Iowa board that we may just Darlington/zone-read and take our chances in IC.

I guess we'll see at the PC what's going on for real.

Wow, that's a tough turn of events for sure. What did you mean by the flushing the off season down the toilette? Do you think this has a negative impact on recruiting, etc?

We reap what we sow. We overplayed Tommy, and now we have to face the consequences. With Fyfe out, we'll have to rely on the D to get several scores on Friday. Ugly close to an otherwise great year.

If you can choose to win one game, does a win over Iowa matter more, or is it a bigger deal to get a bowl win and go into the off season with some momentum?

If they only get one shot at a "good" TA, I'd think they shoot it during a bowl. The other option is to overwork TA, lose in IC, and then lose in the bowl if he re-injuries his injured self.

as mentioned above, but sadly VEGAS usually knows what is going on ..and unless you see NO line or some movement, I would expect they know TA is playing

Crazy things happen in college football every year, and therefore we gotta shoot every possible bullet trying to win the Iowa game. Could end up in the conference championship game, could end up in the Rose Bowl... who knows? So if Tommy can play he's gotta go.

We didn't overplay Tommy. He'd pulled a freakin' hammy. That could've happened at anytime to anyone. Good grief. You have no basis for that comment.
