Jim Nagy- "Biggest surprise of Manning Passing Academy was Miss State QB Tommy Stevens" How hyped should we be?

But Thompson deserves to start he’s earned it by being in the program longer!!****

It's always great to receive praise, but I've learned not to take anything from Passing Academy hype. Guys like John O'Korn, Collier Winters, etc., got glowing reports/won the camp MVP. Doesn't mean much.

This, not a lot of 280 lbs guys out there running a 4.6 trying to decapitate him at the Manning Academy.

Let's give it time and see what happens.

That's terrible Dan Mullen Ideology.. That's why we were so frustrated when Brandon Holloway started over Aries Williams based only on seniority. Talent should be the decider.

Oh I have hope... I'm holding off on the hype. That vowel changes the meaning of the word.

The quote is definitely better than if the guy said "Stevens was a disappointment, poor spin on the ball". Having a nice tight spiral is definitely a plus but in the world of Power 5 football it will take a lot more than that to be successful against SEC defenses. I am excited about Stevens possibilities but need to wait until he sets foot on the Scott Field before anointing him as savior.

Ummm you do realize that he was at a passing academy which doesn't even invite defensive positions to participate?

Areas of Instruction
The MPA boasts a camper to coach ratio of better than 10:1

All offensive skill positions are encouraged to attend: QB, WR, RB, TE

Quarterbacks - Stance, Exchange, Drops, Set-up, Sprint Out, Play Action, Screens, Ball Handling, Option, Reading Defenses, and Field Leadership.
Wide Receivers - Stance, Start, Release, Route Running, Cuts, Receiving, Blocking, and Reading Defenses.
Running Backs - Stance, Start, Ball Handling, Ball Security, Pass Protection, Run Blocking, Route Running, Play Action, Screens and Reading Defenses.
Tight Ends - Stance, Start, Release, Run Blocking, Pass Protection, Route Running, Receiving, Ball Security, Reading Defenses.
The Spread Offense - In addition to the traditional Pro-Style offense we will introduce elements of the Spread Offense that is the latest trend in college football. The Spread maximizes speed in space and makes the defense defend the entire field. The defense must also declare their intentions and that allows the offense to take what the D gives you. The other great aspect of the Spread Offense is that it provides you the opportunity to potentially utilize all of your playmakers on every play. And as always, it’s all about tempo.

I wonder if he's part of the reason our preseason O/U win line is 8.5....I still haven't figured that one out yet.
