we should be at least 8-4 in conference play with 21 wins for the season. It would have been a game where noone could find a ticket, and The Hump would have been alive again. Instead we flopped. Huge disappointment. Tomorrow we see IF we are made of anything...anything at all.

</div>Getting up for Kentucky is easy. Every athlete who plays any sport gets up to play the best teams, and Kentucky is one of the best in college basketball. It's easy. However, Saturday against Auburn was the chance to see what our team was REALLY made of, and we all know how that went. True competitors get up for the games that NEED to be won... and Auburn was that game. It was not a marquis matchup, no, but our whole flippin' season was on the line Saturday night, and we could have cared less. If we had won that game, we could breath a little easier and move on from those two losses, and we would still have something big to play for. Instead, we screwed around and now our season is all but over and everyone is incredibly disappointed and our team is nothing but a bunch of potential talent who don't give a ****. I know we'll get up for Kentucky... because it's easy... but let's face it, we don't NEED to beat UK... we WANT to. So... to be blunt... you are wrong with that statement.

let's not confuse Getting Up for Kentucky with Beating Kentucky. I want Stans gone as much as the next guy, but it would be a nice coaching accomplishment for him to beat Calipari and the Wildcats tomorrow night. Our talent is not just going to go out there and beat a Much more talented team tomorrow night without some pretty extraordinary coaching, or a completely horrid performance by the Cats. That being said, we will lose by 15-20 and it will not matter.

is the same thing I'm talking about. The problem is we can't expect to beat Kentucky, but we can expect to beat a 3-8 Auburn team on the road after a 2 game losing streak, both in OT, one embarrassing loss at home to a 2-7 Georgia team, and the other where we blew a 17 point lead on the road. Instead, we played like we didn't give two ***** about being there... we didn't care that our season was on the line and we could save face, so to speak, with a win and finish respectably. Auburn and Georgia were key games and Stansbury didn't recognize it, nor did the players. There was no sense of urgency and no fight in a game we should have expected to win and needed to win. That's the problem with getting up for Kentucky... because it's easy, but you can't expect to win. If we don't care to get up for games we need to win, why should I care if we get up for games we want to win?

We are the only team in America that as gotten worse since December.... His teams are now like a big AAU team, no disciple, no offense, no defense, and the players run the team....

ESPN Tuesday night game, the #1 team at the country at your place, fighting for a postseason berth.<div>
</div><div>OUR FANS ARE FRIGGING IDIOTS. If the Hump is not alive tomorrow night and sold out, then we should shut down our basketball program and Stans should go to a better place where they'll ultimately give him a shot to be successful.</div>

Stans has had every chance to do great things in 14 years at State, and he hasn't so thinking he coulddo so elsewhere puzzles me. He has had plenty of talent thatI believe any other coach would have at least made the Sweet 16 once with. I also believe any other coach wouldn't have let things such as having players beat the hell out of each other in Hawaii happen. He haslost his control over the players, and his record isn't that great. If State wants to take the next step, and try to do better than just "average", it's time to roll the dice on some new blood and let Stans go. If Stans does get a job anywhere else that team will be "average" at best . Btw winning the "West" isn't a great thing, especially when you can win it and still not make the tourney. Winning tournament games = doing great things

We were "looking forward" to the UK game when we lost to Georgia, LSU, and Auburn. Not saying that's what you said ... just seemed like an excuse that someone, somewhere would come up with.

I meant we were mentally unprepared to play Georgia and auburn because of whatever reason... We were lazy and uninspired, and to me, those games were bigger than Kentucky. Our stakes of winning might not have been high, but our stakes of losing we're enormous. My guess is they didn't care to be playing a bad auburn and Georgia, so we didn't work hard enough to beat them. However, we will work our *** off to try to beat Kentucky tonight because it's a huge matchup.
