I believe that the coach that was recruiting him at ASU went to coach somewhere else. Hope this is a big advantage for us. Right now NU is his leader.
My personal opinion. A player committed to football and wanting to max out, goes to Nebraska over ASU every time. If the player is concerned about weather, and the hotness of women, and scenery, then they probably won't amount to much on the field anyway

Depends how you define huge. Coaches wanted him, so it's definitely a loss. If we strike out on other targets, then it becomes a bigger loss.
A lot more package deals are discussed than actually pan out. I hope it does in this case.

I know the Reese, Butler and Fitzpatrick thing was suppose to be a package deal....remember Butler and Fitzpatrick was trying there best to change his mind about the Gators....Reese picked the Gators but Butler and Fitzpatrick still seemed pretty strong about playing together....if we lose out on a lot of guys but land Lamar Jackson, Fitzpatrick, Farniok, A. Wyatts and Butler....id be happy with the class...would be nice to get Simmons too but i have a gut feeling if we land Jackson then we will miss on Simmons and vise versa...oh and the DE Ivey would be nice too.
My opinion is the only way we don't land K. Johnson Jr (at the least) is if we can or lose Riley....hes got a big relationship with Mike along with his Dad....now that doesn't mean we will automatically land Gebbia, Hightower and or Holmes but it definitely doesn't hurt our chances any.

I think people read the tweets KJJr puts out there about Nebraska and think it's only a matter of time before he makes it official. What many disregard or don't realize is that he tweets a lot of positive things about the other schools that are pursuing him too. Schools like OSU that won last year's CFP, and schools like Clemson that may win this year's CFP.
I like the confidence. But it's not the slam dunk you make it out to be.
No i get your point, but its more then the tweets, the kid visits us regularly it seems. I do admit i have no idea if he visits OSU or Clemson as much as he visits us, if so the kid is on the airplane as much as a NFL or NBA star lol. My guess or gut feeling comes from the tweets, the visits and some of the commments comming from him and his dad. By no means is this a slam dunk YET but hes defiantly got a good bond with Riley and this staff.
I hear Fitz is going to visit Miss St now. If he goe$ there, will Butler still be interested in NU without Reese or Fitz?
Thats a very good question, man i hope we close with Fitzpatrick, we need another WR of his type and you'd think it have some type of pull with Butler too.
There's a lot more doubt now about landing Fitz with Miss St getting a visit. Fitz originally committed to Louisville. The position coach who recruited him has moved to Miss St. He switched OVs for Miss St as soon as he got the offer.
I really feel we land Lamar Jackson, Butler, Farniok, Ivey, Fant and that TE that was committed to Minnesota but FitzPatrick is now a toss up. I think its between us and Miss State. I really hope he picks us because we need more WR like Morgan, FitzPatrick and then hopefully KKJ next year.

IIRC there have a been 4 or 5 recruits the past couple years that ASU took from us.
And we have taken some from down there too. I think Dedrick Young (among others) had an offer from them and I know Callahan owned ASU and Zona there for a while.
