too many classifications?

Have you noticed? It doesn't matter the sport or the gender, too many marginal teams are in the playoffs. Just saying.

You used to really have to earn your way in to the playoffs and it meant more in doing so. Now the regular season is a little less meaningful, but with that being said, I am a fan of the new system, particularly for football. Too many good teams were excluded from the playoffs under the old system. I do think that you should have to be a .500 team to make the postseason though.

I do know in basketball it has really watered things down..granted, more schools get an opporutnity, but, many times I have seen teams make out of regionals and somehow make it to states to only get embarrassed
