In 3A I am going to throw a name out there that I believe will be a factor in the conference they play in and in 3A. Has potential to have a breakout season and that's Lincolnton's RJ Lynch. Wingate Jr.is one for sure in the 4A, but another one to consider in the 4A class is Braylon Thompson from Brevard 153 carries last season 1,241 yards rushing and 18 TD's.

How bout Taeshon Martin from Mt. Airy in the 3A. Ran for 4,417 yards last year. 65 yards listed was longest run of the season. Not sure how many TD'S he had.
4417 is Taeshon Martain's 2022. 2023, & 2024 total yards add receiving and total yds 4532 . Last year was 2397 yards & 38 TDs, but probably only played 2 or 3 quarters per game.

He was even posting impressive numbers as a Freshman. Combined....between rushing/receiving he had 1,200 yards at 51.3 ypg. Couldn't have been many freshmen up that way that year doing that?

2397 yards and 38 td’s is a damn fine season. Say 1000 yards was receiving that would still be almost 1400 yards rushing just to put it in perspective. Yea this kid should be in everyone’s top 5!

Wingate MOVED to Maiden early summer. Hate the way college and social media has made transfer such the buzz word. Transfers aren't allowed in Catawba County, students have to physically move and I'm home checks are done for verification.

As was posted earlier something needs to change with the transfer stuff, and I believe it will, but what that will entail I don't know. Kids are transferring all over it's happening here in Catawba County as well as all over the state. I believe allowing a 1 time transfer is suitable for all parties but there are loopholes there, as there would be in anything you attempt to do. One way would be to allow the transfer but you would have to sit a percentage of the season or sit out like 3 to 6 games or something. That was mentioned in a few articles I read and some podcasts I listened too. Either way this goes you almost cannot stop this inevitably kids are going to transfer. Mack Brown who just retired from Carolina said it best We don't develop kids anymore we rent them. Yes the NIL, Transfer portal in College has worked it's way to High school now.

When I mentioned sitting out with the transfer stuff the 3 to 6 games would effect Basketball I don't know how you make something like that stick in Football you have less games. So many discussions to have and there are ways around anything you do I guess

From the WS Journal:

ā€œJerrell Crawford will take the reins of the Walkertown offense this season with plenty of weapons around him.

Crawford, a senior, saw limited playing time last season at West Forsyth behind Riley Horton. As a sophomore at Glenn, Crawford threw for 1,709 yards and five touchdowns.ā€

I know it’s WSFCS, but 3 schools in 3 years. Looks like he had a great sophomore year at Glenn.

And please forgive me for hijacking this thread.

They had some teams that reached the playoffs the last few years. Not surprised at all to hear.

U can't police families moving or punish kids for moving. Nobody knows the situation of a family having to move but yes they need to limit a transfer where kids don't physically move. Should be 1 time only in high school.
Yes I do believe in a one time transfer. Not all kids and families are moving into these school districts. How many kids along with there families are moving into these districts.....Yes I don't know the answer either, however you can't tell me that every kid who transfers into whatever school it is that the family is living in that district. I have seen situations firsthand were the kid was driving from another part of town, county, or city to go directly to that school. Some families make the move ligit to that district, but not all do. You are right you don't punish the families because they moved, that's not the way to go. Allow the one time transfer and close the loopholes if it's even possible to do so. Georgia and SC are apparently policing it through policy. Not saying it would work here but a one time transfer seems fair at least to me

Maybe they need to clarify what moving means. :D
I'll add this too. At Audrey Kell in Charlotte a few years ago and maybe even currently. There were people transporting there kids from SC to Audrey Kell, may not of had anything to do with sports maybe so. Should those families be punished for driving across the State line to access schools in this state that there money through taxes isn't paying for. How many of those kids from SC that were coming across the state line were participating in sports at the school? At one time there was talk of charging these parents who drove everyday from SC to Kell to send there kids to school. I understand it's different but not every kid is in their designated district attending school and sports certainly do drive the narrative and decision making ultimately for kids and some parents.

I'm fine with one time transfer, matter of fact I've been pushing it with school board member I know. It's what Lincoln county does. And it would probably cut down on moving. But I'm just saying if family legit moves no 365 rule. And currently if someone moves they do follow up with a home visit. I know of some same day visits and staff catching parents at drop off to go do visit. My niece currently lives with me no sports what so ever and I still had to go to middle school and sign a form saying it wasn't for sports related

When my niece moved here from Alabama we went through the same thing before she attended Maiden Elementary school. I totally agree it should be stringet and 365 is alot to get into there are arguments for and against it.
