Outstanding job by the committee.
I cannot tell y'all how proud I was to see MSU revealed as the first ever playoff committee #1 poll. I don't guess I have to tell y'all, because y'all felt it too. Sure, it doesn't mean anything right now, but its more meaningful than the AP and Coaches polls.
I totally agree with Auburn at #3, and said so several times this week. Auburn's win over K-State is huge, and their road loss to the #1 team in the Nation shouldn't hurt them.
I thought Oregon would be #4, but I have no problem with UMiss in that slot for now. I got in a little argument with my Bama fan buddy this afternoon.....I managed to convince him that Auburn deserved to be ranked higher than Alabama, but he could not accept UMiss ahead of Bama despite the head-to-head differential. I like being right.
I got so excited when they revealed the 7-10 teams, and I realized that we had four SEC-West teams in the top 6. I'm a bit surprised by that, but I think the committee is doing the right job.
So, hopefully we will still be there at the end. Bama is on the outside for now, but they still have to play the #1 and #3 teams, so win out and they will get in even if UMiss manages to win out.

Glad to know it will change because OM still has two of the teams of the four to play. It is so damn hard to beat a team twice in one season. A very MSU thing to do would be to beat them for the Egg, then lose to them in round one, and they go onto the championship.
I don't see how Ole Miss gets in the playoff if they lose to us. I think the only person who gets burned in that situation is Ole Miss where they win the Egg but we get another shot in the Playoff.
I would hope that in the event of two conference teams in the final 4 they would put them on opposite sides of the bracket. It would really suck to have to play a team you already beat in the semis. The title would be unavoidable.
Interesting to see that a UM who was likely 2 or 3 only fell to 4 after losing a close one at LSU. Tells me that a close loss at Bama or UM, or to UGa wouldn't knock us out either.
