Has there ever been a movie about Custer/Battle of Little Bighorn?
If not - that should happen.
Epic landscape/topography, a good story-line, tense battle scenes, completely dissimilar opponents etc...

If you're going that route then I'll take "The Long Riders". That was the most hardcore Western since "The Wild Bunch."

Zulu was an excellent war movie.
I used to agree with this. I guess I just pay more attention to films now than I did when it came out. Saw it about 6 months ago...The Private Pyle stuff certainly makes it hard for the rest of the film to compete, but the Vietnam scenes are striking. Camera work and soundtrack create extreme tension and it is striking how the journalists become badass soldiers again when needed. I'd recommend everyone who hasn't watch Full Metal Jacket in a while to give it another try. When you see the bathroom scene coming it isn't as overwhelming and the rest of the film flows better.
To answer Geese "They died with their Boots On" starring Errol Flynn if that tells you anything was about Custer etc. Bit of age on it to say the least.

Well been aiming to watch "Hacksaw Ridge" as it was marketed as a war movie. Was going to ask opinions on if was worth watching, but he refused to kill people, so it is not really a war movie according to someone in this thread. So I have decided not to watch it, thinking it was a war movie, but it is not.

Did you know he dealt with serious depression? His cause of death was asphyxiation due to hanging himself while also managing to slit his wrist with a pen knife. That dude really wanted out.
Yes I know he committed suicide due to his Lewy body dementia which can cause hallucinations and delusions.
If anything that hit him the most depressing way would be the death of Johnathan Winters, both of them together was of such quick wit and improvisation.
