What is the worst officiated game you can ever remember watching? I know we all like to ***** about the refs. But if we are honest, we have to admit that most of the time it's just bad calls made by bad officials. I'm not talking about that here. I'm talking about a time when you were convinced someone was on the take. Not just one or two bad calls that got you steaming, I mean a whole freaking game worth of head-scratchers that made you want to actually follow the ref to the parking lot and exact a little revenge.

For me, it's easy. 2001 BYU game.

What's yours?</p>

There can't be another game on record that was as poorly officiated as that BYU game. The biggest reason was the fact that the violations were committed out in the open; the punch to the head, all of the holds.....those holds were on the outside of the play every time. EVERY time. It's not like they were on interior linemen in a mass of players. Absolutely atrocious. There is no second place to this question.

can't remember which year, but we were trying to score right before 1/2 time and the referree took forever placing the ball down. By the time we could snap it the clock ran out. I think we barely lost that game too. Maybe it was Croom's first year?

the shittiness standards set in the BYU game would make me think it wasn't that bad.

have never seen anything like it and hope to never see it aGAIN.

the ref did an awful job of spotting the ball, but croom also ran the ball with 30 seconds and no timeouts instead of throwing and getting more plays off.

Football: BYU
Basketball: LSU this past season with honorable mention to Washington in the NCAAT.

Both the LSU basketball game and the BYU football game left me feeling as if something was personally stolen from me. Phantom calls on MSU and blatant violation ignored by the other team. I honestly wanted to kill anything wearing stripes after those two.

it has to be the '83 home game vs UK. Malone's on fire, so they foul out a guy that never fouls. Three of the five were charges called on jumpshots. It was horrible. We should've won that game, but it went to OT when UK mugged (literally knocked him down) our guy in the backcourt for a steal and a layup. Then we lost.

Football has several candidates - BYU, Bama in '87 '91 '92 '99, UM in '81 (even if it's just the one call). There are others, but those stand out.

BYU without question was the worst; however, the SEC championship game in '98 against Tennessee was unbelievably horrible for anybody who saw it in person. Two convenient things happened for the orange and white that day, Roy Cramer wearing a UT tie and cowboy hat, also the K State game going long, so the refs could screw us without the whole nation watching it for about 45 minutes.

When Rick "never say anything controversial" Cleveland says that the next time an SEC team plays a Mountain West team, just say NO to the Mountain West Officials, there is a problem. When the chant, "Holding! Holding!" is audible over the TV broadcast, there is a problem. Worst evah.

1993 MSU vs Florida in baseball. Douche would not call a strike and told our catcher he wasn't because Blake Anderson, the catcher, was complaining.

I don't remember if this was called on Malone or not.... On one charge called against MSU, the trail official was in a direct line about 20 feet behind the State ball-handler, who was directly between the official and a UK player (in a crouching, defensive stance) in the front court. From his position, there was little chance that the official could even see the UK player, much less make a charge/blocking call. The state player approached the waiting UK player and stopped 3-4 feet away from the UK player. Neither could have touched each other if they'd tried. The UK player flopped and the trail official called a charge against MSU. In 40 years of playing in and watching basketball games, I've NEVER seen another charge/blocking call that approaches the "ridiculousness" of that one.

Maybe it's just because it's the most recent example, but I seem to recall some of the sloppiest/worst officiating I've seen in a while during that game.

1. 2001 BYU. 2. 2004 Arkansas. I will never forget that fat a$$ referee standing over the ball as the seconds just ticked off the clock. I really wanted to kill someone.
