Torbush will have to change his thinking 'bout rushing only down linemen

We are 104th in sacks and 81st in tackles for a loss so our D-line and blitz packages are not getting much penetration. Arkansas did a great job of pressuring Tebow and attacking the run. They were able to do this by playing man across the board and stacking the line.

I think playing 5 DB's this week would be a big strategic mistake. For one thing, that doesn't play to our personnel strength and it will make it easier for UF to gash us with the run. We need to keep our 3 LB's on the field with the 4 down linemen.

Any time you substitute Wade Bonner for Chris White or KJ Wright, you are really sandbagging the defense.

Additionally, I like what I have been seeing from Ferguson on the line. Granted, we haven't had too many sacks this year, but that also has a lot to do with the offensive styles we have played. We haven't seen many 5-7 step drops all year.

I still like what our D-line is doing, but I think they could be better with better coaching, and we will have to bring the blitz this week. The biggest problem I see us having is not being able to get pressure up the middle with our DTs. Haven't gotten it much all year. If we could force QBs to slide out of the pocket to the outside, it would play right into McPhee's abilities (he usually has his man driven deep into the backfield) and Ferguson's athleticism. If our DTs get stuffed and McPhee and Ferguson get upfield, it leaves a big hole for Tebow to run through between the guards and tackles. Unless we are shooting a LB in those gaps, our DEs will have to play conservative and contain, and Tebow will have all day back there.

LSU got killed on the dive play. One thing that we have to stop is the RB swing passes and WR screen. I do not think we will see Tebow carring the ball much unless the game is on the line. One thing that I have been impressed is White. I am happy to see he does not have the TJ syndrome.</p>
