Torres should be a good pick up for Chelsea. I'd like to see what Suarez adds to Liverpool, especially since they couldn't get Charlie Adam from Blackpool.

I just hope that Man U slips up.

79m is a high price for a used up whiner with only one hamstring. Can't wait for the Drogba + Torres drama. Torres will fit right in with the rest of the washed-up geriatrics at Chelski. The Reds will use the money to bring in some class.

So Liverpool traded Torres for Adam, Carroll, Suarez, and still has some cash to spend.

I think it's pretty telling that Torres has no faith in Liverpool returning to the Champions League even with the addition of a skilled striker who he could feed off of. Liverpool fans really do need to get over their big club mentality. That said I'm not really sure how well Torres+Drogba will work out. I'm not sure either player will make the other better. In fact, I'd be willing to predict the opposite.

didnt do this for CL play. He doubled his salary. If this was just about the champions league he would'nt have waited until the final day of the window to drive the price up.

50 million pounds for Torres. Giving up 35 million for Carroll. Giving up 23 million for Suarez. If anything with Adam happened, it would only put them further behind. Losing 2 million to get trade one proven, prolific scorer finally showing signs of regaining his form for two unproven players, on a big stage, isn't definitively a good trade. <div>
</div><div>Also no doubt Torres went for the improved salary, but Rooney made a similar play earlier this year. The only difference is Rooney had faith that he could accomplish his goals with his team. </div>

Take a genius to figure out we won't be in the CL next year. Basic math tells you that. We blew that in the first month. As for a big club we will see. The fair play rules will make things a bit more interesting in the future. There are a couple of teams that will have to change their ways for sure. You may see a shift back to the old big three over the next few years if those rules hold.

money before the Torres stuff happened. We still have that now and a bit more if you believe what Dalgliesh said prior to the Torres saga.

The reason why this is a good move for liverpool is that Torres is a luxury player. If you are battling for a title you need a striker like him. If you are battling for a return to champions league play he is not your man. He has been sulking all year long. Even with the recent wins he looked like he was completely uninterested. Liverpool needs hungry players right now and that's why this deal is good. Translation: "We didn't want him anyway"

18 league titles and 5 european cup titles will do that to a fan base.

My point is they are no longer one of the premier European clubs like most of the Liverpool fans want to believe. for us( Liverpool ). Correction though, latest is Adam is NOT at Anfield.
Us? We? Really?
really. I was a charter member of their offical site. I've been following them for about16 years now. They slowly be came "we". I check their site every day before I check the MSU ones. Picture I took this summer. Unfortunately I only had about 8 hours in town and did notget to go to there.

he isn't worth that. We were between a rock and a hard place. Weneeded TWO goodfowards. With Torres we only had one, when he could play.Even withSuaez withTorres leaving we were back down to one when he could play. I will say this: Carroll has the potential to be worth that much. and he is 22. You pay a premium for him being English too. That's a bigger deal than it was last year. He won't be the last big money Enlish transfer.

We still have one of the biggest fanbases anywhere. Much bigger than all of the English clubs except Man U. Was Man U still a big club when they went 20 years with winning much of anything? I think they were. It's only been 6 since our last big one. I like where we are headed at the moment, for only the second time since I've been followingLiverpool. It's not going to happen overnight though. 3-4 years of wise management both in the front office and on the pitch at least. Trading 2 for one today was a good start.

Gonna be a long commute if not.

that is over with. That's what they were saying on Soccernet's transfer blog anyway.
It's just a matter of time before he smashes in somebody's face. Any good influences at Liverpool that he can crash with? Any body that doesn't mind cars getting set on fire in their driveway?
