Torvik Preaseason

I liked Pope’s first roster and believe they were sabotaged by injuries. A healthy Butler would have made a significant difference.
Last years roster was dysfunctional from the onset. I don’t know if it was Oweh or a combination of players, but something was off and that team underachieved. They seemed disinterested or didn’t enjoy playing together, but there were several games where they showed no fight or will to win.
That’s on the coaching staff for assembling the roster, but I do feel that the team got away from Pope.
I admit that I know next to nothing about this season’s additions. It’s concerning that we have to rely on Hawthorne or Potter for any significant minutes. But, I do believe that Moreno will be much improved.
Right now, Mark Pope is 1-1 in his first 2 seasons and 2026-2027 will determine his future at UK.
If the team starts like last year, I would fire Mark Pope before Christmas.

Yup, Torvik is a just a Pope hater though. He doesn’t rely on statistics or data to form his rankings. He is a hillbilly posting on here!

Nothing quite like a preseason top 40 list in MAY! LMAO rosters aren’t even completely set yet. Even preseason rankings in October are worthless. How long have you been following college basketball?!

Preseason rankings even computer rankings are somewhat unreliable. 10 games in and the computers are a lot closer to reality. I think Torvik is the best computer nerd out there.
