They might drop all the way to #5.

Since Ohio St got sooooo much credit last year for winning without their starting QB down the stretch--and since Long swore things like that would be taken into account, even though they haven't been for anybody else but the Luckeyes--then shouldn't the phony committee drop them twice as far for LOSING to a backup QB?

Something tells me that type of consistency will suddenly be tossed out the window when the country club meets again to decide their next fix.

Mich State may just flip with Ohio State.

MSU is 10-1 now with a top 3 road win using a backup QB.

The committee will look very fondly upon the Spartans because it was Ohio State they beat. To them, that's a HUGE deal & they have no beef with 1-loss teams.

There are certain brands that if you beat, you'll position yourself nicely. Clemson-ND relationship is another example of how they think in this way.

Another thing that will help the Spartans is this late surge by Oregon. I also wouldn't rule out a Nebraska upset of Iowa next week to make Michigan St's loss look better.

As long as Herbstreet is announcing Ohio State games on ESPN....they will get more Breaks than anyone else gets....I think only a second loss to Michigan keeps them out....and the fix is in for a repeat....

If Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State, the Sooners will be in the national playoffs because they have the national sparkle that TV and the committee likes.
Ohio State is done. You can't put a team in the playoffs that doesn't even make it to their conference's title game. Iowa and Michigan or Michigan State will be playing for the Big 10 title. So the Buckeye run is over for this year.

Clemson will be the only unbeaten team, unless Iowa pulls off a miracle.

So the committee will have a zillion 1-loss teams to pick from. Notre Dame's 3-point victory over Boston College should be equivalent to any team that anyone else beat. Or so it seems from the committee's actions.

These guys are going to make people wish the BCS was back and the computers were doing the selections.

M ighty defense throttled Georgia Southern, 44-0

O utstanding defense obliterated Liberty, 41-17

U nilaterally decimated Maryland, 45-6, on defense and offense

N oxious offense & special teams against Oklahoma, 44-24

T urnovers lose to Oklahoma State, 33-26 in OT despite impressive comeback from 15-point deficit.

A wesome Baylor too much, 62-38.

I ncinerated by TCU, 40-10. Way too many mistakes, penalties, dropped passes.

N ifty rushing, defense take down Texas Tech, 31-26

E xcellent turnovers by defense against Texas, 38-20

E rectile dysfunctioned Kansas, 49-0

R oll past Iowa State

S lap down Kansas State

I think Tuesday the committee will go

1 Clemson
2 one-loss Alabama
3 one-loss Mich State
4 one-loss Notre Dame
5 Iowa
6 one-loss Oklahoma or tOSU
7 one-loss Baylor or tOSU
8 does it even matter

Mich State is the huge winner Saturday beating Ohio St on the road with a backup QB. They also won at Michigan and vs surging Oregon non-conf. The committee bought into Ohio St bigtime so beating them that way will loom large.

TCU will be lucky to stay ranked at all. Ok State will drop to around 15th just as TCU dropped before.

The committee won't be impressed with Oklahoma's by the skin of their teeth home win vs TCU who was without Boykin & Doctson. OU beating Ok State won't have enough cache because Ok State is dropping.

No 1-loss BXII teams will make the playoff, in my opinion. Heather Dinich already said a 2-loss Stanford that beats Notre Dame would jump a 1-loss BXII champ.

So either way Mich State/Iowa is in. Notre Dame/Stanford is in (assuming Stan holds on tonight). If Clemson loses to UNC, 1-loss UNC will make a case for No. 4 because it would've beaten No. 1. Bama ain't losing to FL. FL stinks.

The BXII schedulers screwed up by putting all the big games at the end. There's no time left to climb back up & let others lose ahead. TX beating OU is a glaring blemish. Tis what it is. Just root for WVU & settle in for basketball.

I disagree on this one. I think it is absolute genius. Both the OU and OSU games last night were prime time network games. The B1G didn't get that kind of airplay.

Bedlam will be a big game also and probably network game also.

I don't know who Heather Dinch is, but I think it's highly unlikely that 2-loss Stanford jumps a bunch of 1-loss teams and gets in the playoffs. But, I think it's likely that the Big 12 gets shut out again.

Stanford's best effort and result will keep ND out of the top 4.

Three point win over 3-8 BC is less than impressive. Yet they will still be 4 this week in CFP.
