We are ahead in total defense too. Ole Miss in bottom 10 in both total O and total D.

Bad news: USM is quite a bit higher that both of us in total O and in total D.

statistically from the past few years. This is really impressive to see we are 35 spots out of the 100s. Somewhere we have been for yyearrrss on offense.

USM also had to come back from 17 down twice against one of the worst D1 programs this year in UVA. We'll never put up their offensive numbers. As for defense, that embarrassment against Auburn skewed the stats, but I'll take our defensive performances against Vandy and LSU over anything that Ole Miss or USM have done defensively thus far.

kansas may be overrated but the announcers showed that Southern had averaged 8 yards per play through the third quarter on saturday. i'd take that in a heartbeat.

I'm assuming the ratings you're showing are based only on who we've played so far. Meaning, our SOS will presumably get higher as the season progresses and we play UF, Bama, etc.

Is that right? I've seen it both ways, but the ones done earlier in the year had us with a top ten schedule strength.

That's what playing a piss poor defense like LSU's does for a team. We will be exposed next week at UGA, the next week vs Fla and the following game vs Auburn. Season over for us.
