Totally OT-Has anyone recently had a pond/lake dug? How much/acre?

I drained and revamped my lake about 4 years ago. I've got tons of great info. For starters, get with your local ASCS office and have them give you some site specific info. They can advise how many acres your draining, how large of a drain pipe you'll need, etc. That's all free. My guess is that you'll need a dozer and trac hoe. They run about $85-$100/hr. Your ASCS guy will probably have pond building sources. You have to get someone that knows how to properly construct you core ditch/levee----dead critical!! Not every yahoo that runs a dozer knows how. If you'll pm me (and let me know you have) I can share a ton more info. Got it all from lime, to great fish source, etc, etc.
your county NRCS office can give you all the info you want and can help you out with just about anything.
