He dominated quality dlineman and backers all year. I hope my bengals draft him and send bodine to the birds.
He has been a rock for this team for four years, the point around which Schlarman and Stoops have built the offense. The cornerstone for Gran and the difference-maker for a new QB. He will not be replaced. One of a kind.

He is going to be a great representative of the program and university for a long time, on and off the field.

Why in the world did the previous staff recruit him? Think of all the fans that were disappointed when he signed. And, all the 3-5 star centers we missed on!!!
That was my thought as well. When we signed him, I was very much in the 'oh man, another guy we stole from the MAC. Yay!' Well, I was dead wrong and all the props go to JT and staff for developing him into the rock he is now. Certainly not every 2-star kid turns into all-SEC but it's great to see when one does who is also a quality, high-class individual. Well done and well deserved.
I think it goes to show rankings can be wrong on a lot of kids. I've saw to many highly ranked kids underperform and vice versa. Last years class had some good 2 star players too. Stephen Johnson, Carter, Pringle, and Cross come to mind.
I agree. However, OTOH, 4-5 star players have a much more likelihood of succeeding than the 5.4, 2 star guys. I don't know why our fans always take these opportunities to throw passive aggressive natured posts at those among us who hope for higher ranked players.
At the end of the day, we all want the same thing. I think your margin for error increases with higher ranked players. Look at the programs who are perennial top 20 and you will find a ton of those 4 star athletes.

No, that two stars usually become first team All-SEC performers. It's an anomaly.
Has anybody seen where he is expected to go in the draft? I'm guessing middle rounds 3-5? Maybe a strong senior bowl can get him in the 2-3?
So how do they judge interior linemen? I could see members of your own coaching staff knowing who missed their assignments and didn't get the block or open the hole that they were supposed to. How do people who don't watch the same players every week know who deserves the award for those positions? It is much easier to tell what skill position players are doing just by looking at stats, but are there a bunch of stats to look at for a center? I'm by no means an expert when it comes to football so excuse this if it is a dumb question.
