Clifford took unnecessary criticism. He was a good and loyal QB to PSU. He proved a lot of people wrong when he was drafted.Booed him when he was introduced as the starter. One posted here that Allar should have been named the starter before he walked on campus.
Clifford was accused of "being in the way" of Allar's develpment etc. Fickle much?
Allar took too many unneccessary hits vs. Nevada. He was cautioned to avoid running vs FIU....it was pretty obvious. I'll guess it will be similar Saturday.
Imagine telling your QB not to get injured in the first 3 non conference games? Fire everyone!
After last week he was 35th in completion percentage, 88th in yards per completion, and 80th in QB rating. Today against an FCS team he went 16 for 29 with 209 yds 1 TD and 1 INT. Sure, let’s compare him to the best QBs in the NFL.Drew is not any of those QBs…not even remotely close.
Cliff led PSU To a Rose Bowl victory. Some here feel like they deserved better. LOLClifford took unnecessary criticism. He was a good and loyal QB to PSU. He proved a lot of people wrong when he was drafted.
In his 10th yearCliff led PSU To a Rose Bowl victory. Some here feel like they deserved better. LOL
Cliff is the man in the arena. We’re just critics. I respect him for going in the arena and fighting to win for PSU.In his 10th year![]()
The criticism was deserved.Clifford took unnecessary criticism. He was a good and loyal QB to PSU. He proved a lot of people wrong when he was drafted.
Based on what, your desire for him not to?He ain't playing a near perfect game vs Oregon. At this point, I hope he is given a chance to excel but Franklin may already have lost confidence in him and we will come in with a conservative run first short passing game type of plan and pray Allar makes no mistakes. In essence play not to lose and we will therefore lose.
And when you compare him to all the other guys getting drafted this year he's right there with themAfter last week he was 35th in completion percentage, 88th in yards per completion, and 80th in QB rating. Today against an FCS team he went 16 for 29 with 209 yds 1 TD and 1 INT. Sure, let’s compare him to the best QBs in the NFL.
Levis was decent, but not great. Kentucky fans criticize him for all the same things many of our fans criticize Allar for. It’s too soon to tell with Beau, he wasn’t great today against a really poor opponent, but he didn’t have to be because they ran the ball well. So if you want to talk about AB development, we did fine developing McSorley and Clifford.Levis and beau.
If you want to list taquan roberson, Micah bowens and 20 guys who never saw the field then let's talk about qb evaluation, coaching and development.
Who will be this seasons scapegoat?
Are you tired of watching the rb run into the back of the ol?
CJF continues to harp about explosive plays and TD to INT ratio. I thinks it's gotten in Allars head and has stunted his QB play.Levis was decent, but not great. Neither were great. Both were good but inconsistent and often bailed out by running. OSU fans used to say all mcsorely did was throw jump balls to Godwin and gesecki.Levis was decent, but not great. That's more or less true. He had elite guys that made contested catches. We haven't had that in a while from a WR.Neither were great. Both were good but inconsistent and often bailed out by running. OSU fans used to say all mcsorely did was throw jump balls to Godwin and gesecki.
Nobody is going to get it done with this offense. They preach explosive play bs but can't run 3rd and 1. The point that goes over this staffs head is a well executed short down play can result in an explosive long run. The second point is every 3rd down conversion gives the offense at least three more plays/opportunities for that long explosive play. Can’t believe it needs to be said. Allar is more than good enough. Plus he’s the PSU QB that we’re going to war with. Support him. He’s our guy, and he can do it.
If we want to say the scheme isn't good enough I think you'd get less pushback. Allar is. Far worse QBs have won titles.Nobody is going to get it done with this offense. I mean, Allar's 26-5 with those loses coming to all top 5 teams including to 2 that won the title but, yeah, obviously "not good enough"
What is your goal? If the goal is to struggle and beat mid majors then this team is great. If the goal is to be national champ then forget it.I mean, Allar's 26-5 with those loses coming to all top 5 teams including to 2 that won the title but, yeah, obviously "not good enough"
I said the scheme is the problem many times. Rbs run into a wall of OL. The blocking scheme is a problem. If we want to say the scheme isn't good enough I think you'd get less pushback. Allar is. Far worse QBs have won titles.
There's no excuse for our run game not to be far better than it is.
To be fair, I have less losses to top 5 teams. Admittedly, I am not a good enough.I mean, Allar's 26-5 with those loses coming to all top 5 teams including to 2 that won the title but, yeah, obviously "not good enough"
There was zero struggle today--we won by 46. He's good enough to win a title. 26-5 isn't misleading--it's very real. What is your goal? If the goal is to struggle and beat mid majors then this team is great. If the goal is to be national champ then forget it.
The main problem is the offense. The rbs and ol don't even look good. Rbs run into a wall of ol. Even Barkley had problems .
Which is what I said, if we want to say that there won't be as much pushback--that's not the intent or topic of the thread though.I said the scheme is the problem many times. Rbs run into a wall of OL. The blocking scheme is a problem.

Did you miss the sarcasm?Did you apply for a coaching job?
Sorry, lol, I did miss the sarcasm. Please Accept my apology.Did you miss the sarcasm?
How many points has the starting defense allowed so far?Allar has not been good enough. The RB room has not been good enough. The OL has not been good enough. The defense has had communication issues at times, so they're not good enough either. Yet.
There's usually room for hope. That said, if we play like we did last week and for parts of the first half, in particular, in two weeks we will be slapped around AGAIN by Oregon.
I know--you're trying to monopolize everything freshmanWhy is every thread on here dominated by one poster? The McAndrew board traditionally doesn't allow this.
I completely support Allar - he’s a good kid and loyal to PSU. The reality is there is no evidence to date he is good enough to lead us to a natty. The consistency is not there. He struggled vs 3 low level opponents. Can’t believe it needs to be said. Allar is more than good enough. Plus he’s the PSU QB that we’re going to war with. Support him. He’s our guy, and he can do it.
52-6 is now considered a struggle….i was not aware of that. What is your goal? If the goal is to struggle and beat mid majors then this team is great. If the goal is to be national champ then forget it.
The main problem is the offense. The rbs and ol don't even look good. Rbs run into a wall of ol. Even Barkley had problems .
Yeah, like that matters. Penix, Travis, Milton, Daniels, Gabriel, Rattler, just a few of the 5th and 6th year guys. \In his 10th year![]()
After 3 weeks I don't see how one can deny any of this. When you say "not good enough"....I'm assuming you mean to beat Oregon or Ohio State.Allar has not been good enough. The RB room has not been good enough. The OL has not been good enough. The defense has had communication issues at times, so they're not good enough either. Yet.

Imagine a world where one needed to wait till the season ends to form an opinion? LOLwould you trade Drew for Arch Manning?
I wouldn't
let's not surrender just yet
You don't know that Drew doesn't work hard.Drew is not a hard worker. Lack of preparation and poor execution = not a winner.
Drew rather wear ugly chains and get terrible haircuts.
