But our team has obviously improved a great deal. This loss definitely not on mullen. Sometimes just goes that way.

I think Auburn right now is the favorite to win the west. i think they give Bama fits, and with their schedule, could possibly be undefeated going to the Iron Bowl.

We are a long way from being 3-4 tds out of the game by half. Just a reminder- that as MSU football 3 yrs ago.

Sucks *** in fact. But we lost to a really good team. Should have won if we make the plays. But we didnt. You have to be blind to not see we are on the way. I think we beat LSU and UGA. Neither are the team AU is.

Seriously, FU.CK a moral victory. "On the way??" What damn difference does that make right now? We didnt get the job done tonight. Period. End of story.

They played like *** tonight. The only problem (for us) is that we did too. Bama will beat them and Arkansas will shred their secondary. If our receivers caught half of the balls that they just flat 17ing dropped, we win. If Relf could have hit the broad side of a barn on half of his passes, we win.

Overall, Newton wasn't terribly impressive. Most of his big gains were made when our DEs lost contain on the edge. Bama won't make those mistakes. AU looks like #3 in the west at best right now.

no.....but you know what? appearance is a big deal...maybe not to you, but it is to recruits....and those recruits build future teams....and maybe tobias singleton is out there saying, i can catch that pass that berry dropped and beat auburn.....you're an idiot if you think a loss is a loss and it doesn't matter how........half of our optimism this year is because of the close games we played last year.....if we had gotten blown out by houston, lsu, and florida last year then there wouldn't be near the hype that we have this year that is keeping recruits interested in us despite lack of success

If "dense" is defined as the ability to take something good out of a bad situation, then I would love to be called that.

Seriously, why do people always have to equate us to the freaking players? If I'm a player, I'm not taking a "moral victory" from this, and no one called it that anyway. You figure out what you did wrong and correct it and show up next week ready to go. But as a fan? If you can't find things to not be miserable about, you're going to have one crappy life.

No, we didn't get it done. We're fans! Is it our job to sulk over it and say how crappy it is? I guess next week we, as fans, better not overlook LSU or else they're going to surprise us! You decide what you're going to make of it. If you want to be miserable, go for it. I'm going to choose to at least try to find things to not kill myself over.

If Auburn were favorites to win the West, they would have finished us off and won by 10 at least. Really, even with the downright stupid coaching decisions and all the drops, we are one catch away from OT. Auburn has a very good offense. D, not so much. </p>

Being an internet ******* doesnt prove your point. Yeah, I know that the SPS way, but I feel a hell of alot better about this team than I have after two games than any other time in the last 10 years. Or go the other way, and just write off the whole damn season now.

The defense played their tails off in the 2nd half. Our offense beat themselves and kept giving Auburn a short field, and our defense stepped up. Defensively, I feel good going into the rest of the season. But I have2 questions about the team now. 1) Who is gonna be the guy running the offense and getting the ball to the playmakers. 2) How are those playmakers gonna step up the rest of the season. Berry and Bumphis are extremely important, and had bad nights. Do they bounce back, or do they let this effect them the rest of the season. If they don't do well this season, the team won't do well.

Like I said, they played like ***, but we did too for most of the night. The D stepped up in the 2nd half, but the offense never got going.

Auburn has a very good offense.

I'm not so sure about this. They have a SR & JR laden offense (well, team really), but our primarily young D really held them in check all night. Other than the first drive, they only scored when we gifted them field position off of turnovers. A team with a more experienced defense will not allow Newton to run like he did against us. Our DEs lost contain a lot, but he still only had 70ish yards rushing. Color me generally unimpressed with Newton & the AU offense.
