The below traffic advisory has been issued by the Clarke County Sheriff's Office for this coming Saturday:

On Saturday, December 5, 2015, there will be two events in Clarke County that are anticipated to create heavy traffic and congestion. The Town of Berryville Christmas Parade will begin at 12:00 PM and will travel on Main Street from First Street to Lincoln Avenue. The parade will cause the closure of Main Street for the parade. Also traffic on US Route 340 will be blocked to allow for the parade. The parade is expected to last 45 minutes.

Clarke County High School will be hosting the State Semifinal Football Game on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Kickoff is at 1:30 PM. This game is expected to draw a huge crowd. Parking for the football game is available at DG Cooley Elementary School (Upper and Lower Campuses) and Clarke County High School. For those traveling to the football game, we suggest traveling the following routes:

We highly recommend that everyone attending the game to travel Route 7 (Harry Byrd Highway) to West Main St (Business Route 7) to one of the schools listed above.

If traveling 340 (Lord Fairfax Highway) northbound from Route 50 (John Mosby Highway), Turn left onto Senseny Road, right onto Westwood road and proceed to one of the schools.

When the game is over, we recommend that all local traffic exit and travel Westwood Road to Senseny Road. For those visiting, we recommend taking West Main Street (Business 7) to Route 7 (Harry Byrd Highway)

Please expect heavy traffic and congestion in this area to begin at 10:00 AM and continue until 5:30 PM.

Before, during and after the events, we will update our Facebook and Twitter pages of any incident that may cause problems with traffic in the area.

Cool, so the marching band will already be in uniform and ready for the game! Just hope the band section in the stands is roped off for them to have a place to sit!

If you're coming from 81, take exit 315 to 7 East. I just checked it this morning.

Fans will not be able to park on the orchard land across Westwood Road from the stadium. If/when parking fills up at the DG Cooley campuses, fans can park at Clarke County High School (paved lot) or at the back baseball fields at the Chet Hobert Park (gravel lot).

For fans coming in via Route 7, Chet Hobert Park is located on Business 7 across from the fairgrounds before you get to DG Cooley and the traffic circle. Once you park, your short walk may be a little muddy given the recent rains. For those that bought prepaid tickets, you will need to go to the opposite end of the stadium (toward Westwood Road) to enter through the prepaid gate.

If you choose to park at Chet Hobert, please do not park at the recreation department/senior center.

Please be aware that if you park at CC High, you will have a little further walk and must cross the traffic circle, which will be very busy today.

Hope everyone has safe travels, appreciates all that make this game possible (students, parents, coaches, staff, volunteers, sheriffs, fans) and enjoys the game no matter the outcome! Winning is great, but you miss so much by not enjoying the experience. God bless!
