Are these stats last season or career stats?
I know Ty Lawrence avg'd way more than 9ppg last season.
he did. Averaged 13.8 points per game. BUT on 39% shooting and 27% on 3FG shooting. Not a good shooter, actually very bad. he also had 1.5 assist/ 1.9 turnovers. Not exactly what you want from your point guards. Not a good shooter and turnovers higher than assist. Hard pass. he is a very good rebounder for a PG (5.1 per game) and gets to the line a lot. Averaged 5.6 attempts and 3.9 makes per game (70% free throw shooter). Once again, ALL of the shooting metrics screams he is not a good shooter, volume shooter. Took 7.4 2's per game and 3.7 3's per game, that is over 11 shots per game, subtract the 4 points per game from the free throw line, he more or less, takes over 11 shots to get 9.8 points. (13.8 ppg average minus 4 points from made free throws = 9.8 points from shots taken). Not great at all, factor in the more turnovers than assist and he is a net negative all around, other than rebounding.

Some interesting names out there with stats:

Arturo Dean, FIU, PG:
-Led the nation in steal percentage
-Not a great shooter (26% career 3P%, 30% last year)

Joshua Jefferson, Saint Mary's, Forward
-Top-3 defensive rating in the nation College Stats

Maliq Brown, Syracuse, Forward
-Top-4 offensive rating in the nation College Stats

Clifford Omoruyi, Rutgers, Center
-Led the nation in block percentage College Stats

I'm just looking at players that can help the offensive production with their defensive production.

Allegedly being pursued by Kentucky:

Aidan Mahaney, Guard, Saint Mary's:
FG%: 41
2P%: 44
3P%: 42
FT%: 76
TRB: 2.4
AST: 2.3
STL: 0.8
BLK: 0.1
TOV: 1.4
PTS: 13.9

This would be a good add to the UK roster.

Jalen Blackmon, Guard, Stetson:
FG%: 42
2P%: 48
3P%: 36
FT%: 91
TRB: 2.1
AST: 1.5
STL: 0.6
BLK: 0.1
TOV: 1.5
PTS: 14.4

This would be a strong addition as well.

JaKobe Coles, Forward, TCU/Butler
FG%: 48
2P%: 53
3P%: 35
FT%: 77
TRB: 3.2
AST: 0.9
STL: 0.5
BLK: 0.5
TOV: 0.8
PTS: 7.0

Decent numbers, except for scoring, from a fourth-year player out of TCU/Butler.

I don’t know if there is a roster full of studs in this group. Might need a few more guys to get in.

Well, a guard lineup with a combination of the following would be pretty darn good:

Javon Small, David Coit (PG)
Reed Sheppard, Travis Perry, Aidan Mahaney, Jalen Blackmon, Otega Oweh

EB, I appreciate all the effort you put into organizing and posting these portal entries and stats. Really cool and makes checking the numbers on these guys convenient.

Here's an off the radar name (at least, I haven't heard it yet):

Savion Lewis, PG, Quinnipiac
FG%: 43
2P%: 43
3P%: 41
FT%: 66
TRB: 3.1
AST: 4.6 ---- 7.3 last season at Quinnipiac
STL: 1.3
BLK: ---
TOV: 2.5
PTS: 6.9

He has six years of college basketball experience, and apparently has another year of eligibility left. From his highlights, it looks like he's got a good change of pace rhythm to his game. From his assist totals, it looks like he's a good distributor.
