Anybody looking at that yet ? I been checking it out of curiosity. Couple of good corners and WR in there but OT and Edges look slim. Best tackles in there so far are like 87 rated.

Sign every Lineman rated 80 or above.
There are a couple of 6'7" guys from UConn. But it's UConn, ya know ? Im glad I'm not the guy whose job is on the line trying to evaluate guys and find better talent.
Mario Nash out of Kemper County has entered the portal, ON3 had him as a 4 star.
We don’t need nfl tackles. They’d be nice but we don’t need them.

Above average players on the LOS in this league are NFL players. UDFA at minimum. We need a couple of those on each side of the LOS from the portal, minimum.
I really don't want to see any more huge guys with feet that don't move get pushed down or run around every other play. I feel sure that's what you're getting from UConn.
There are roughly 170 offensive lineman in the sec each year.
probably 30 to 50 of those make a roster.
we NEED 7 to 8 that would be ranked somewhere between 50 and 90.
We WANT 7 to 8 that would be ranked in the top 50

Not nearly that many make the NFL. There are about 451 SEC players in the NFL. That's all positions and with careers that last from 1-15 or so years. So SEC probably puts about 60 players total in the NFL each year., and maybe 15 or so offensive linemen.

we don’t need the top 20 offensive lineman in the league.
we need 4 that could start in the top half of the league and 4 that would be the top 2 lineman on teams in the bottom half of the league.
same with defensive lineman but less if we are running a 3 man front.
Exactly. We've had a lot of really productive players in the past who never made an NFL team. Of course it would be nice to have another Jeffrey Simmons or Charles Cross. But we need a lot of solid average SEC players on both lines and we'll be OK.
I don’t think it’s that high for the average.
I’d like to think for $5 you can get 8 above average o linemen and a couple of average.
$3 million should get you 6 above average defensive linemen

he had 2 starting nfl defensive lineman but he also had 3 or 4 guys who were solid players who contributed a decent amount.

We can get away with a lesser talented OL with KT. It needs to be much better than this year, but it can be just serviceable and be productive with a mobile guy at qb.
No, they modified the old rule this past Fall. 5 days after a new HC is announced, the players for that school get a 15 day transfer portal. I'm just not certain that rule is in effectright now.
Well I think that’s my point. We had bottom 20% lineman in the sec this year and we were close.
if we can get top 30 to 45 lineman we’d have won 7 to 8 games this year and maybe 9.

Looking at our talent on the O line and D line and overall I think Lebby has done a pretty good job of coaching
He has to get better talent though and mainly in the trenches. But I think we are closer than people think.
Lord. If you type " transfer portal" in your Google search bar you see there are probly hundreds of guys in there. Plenty from Auburn, UConn etc. Schools that lost coaches. We have guys in there ranked mid 80s and they are not SEC players. Of course more options will be added but lots of competition for those quality players. Or supposedly quality. I was going by an Athletic/SI article from a few months back. They said that was for the Average power 4 starter in transfer portal. I’m sure there are outliers. Makes sense if spending 12-15 mil on a roster.
Um there are multiple good teams in this league today that aren't going to have 2 NFL tackles. If we WANT to be in the top 3 or 4, yeah.
But we NEED 8 offensive lineman that are rankded somewhere between 40 and 110 ish if you ranked all the SEC offensive lineman from 1 to 170.

3 from 40 to 60
3 from 61 to 80
2 from 81 to 110
2 from 110 to 130
2 bottom dwellers for reps, injuries, scout team
Say what? We maybe have 1 average SEC offensive lineman. And he's injured half the time.
We have one offensive lineman that would start in the top 12 teams in the SEC. Maybe
we have zero who would start in the top 6.
We won't be signing 7 or 8 linemen. You can count on that. Most likely a couple three Makalyn Pounders types everybody will get excited about and then they will be pathetic. After 3 games we will be playing the same guys as last year. I remember he was gonna replace Reese. Then this year Steen was gonna replace Reese.
