If a player transfers mid season from out of state. Can they play immediately? Thanks in advance.

If it's a family move with their immediate family, they are eligible to play. They have to be placed on the eligibility roster prior to competing in the game and if they have not played football this year, must go through at least 18 practices before stepping onto the field.

You are correct except for the number of practices. They only need to go through the practice stages of just helmet (3 days), shoulder pads, and then full gear. A team must have a certain number of practices before it can play but individual players have a different set if rules (don't know why).

Ad.,coach and principal make sure all VHSL. Rules are met. Transferring can and will contain allot of issues now and later. If not handled correctly!
