Also, why is the term mentally ill viewed in such a horrible way? Mental Illness is not a derogatory or discriminatory term. It’s something that should be taken seriously and help given. I don’t dislike trans and I don’t want to in any way harm them or restrict their rights as people. I truly wish them and everyone else the best. I just feel it does absolutely no good for anyone to pretend an issue isn’t an issue because of hurt feelings.

I agree. Mental illness is real. But sometime when you don’t agree with something you just say oh their crazy or their mentally ill. I don’t mean you personally but it’s very common to trash something you don’t agree with.

No, they don't get their own league either. Don't accommodate fantasy. At all. Part of the reason this insanity is so ubiquitous now is precisely because rational people continue to accommodate irrationality.

People believe things that aren’t true all the time. Are they mentally ill, maybe. Are they just gullible and easily made to believe things that aren’t true? Maybe. Lots of people don’t believe the election results with zero proof it wasn’t. Are they crazy? Gullible? Just playing the part?
Men and women are built differently biologically. Are there exceptions? Of course, but on average, it's basic science that men are stronger, taller, faster, etc. That's why a pathologist or coroner can see an unidentified skeleton and almost immediately tell if it's female or male.

Good post. I agree. I’ve never said I support it in competitive sports. But if your uncle mike decides he wants to be aunt Mary I personally don’t care. Doesn’t bother or affect me.

I'm OK with Ed's mentally ill relatives pretending they are men, women, horses, cows, or whatever. Just don't expect me to agree with turning the sane world upside down to accommodate their irrational, absurd, selfish demands, which is the point of this thread.

It may not bother you, but it does affect you in an indirect fashion, as it does all of us. Health care costs...societal changes...the related "requirements" on how we all deal with it (employment being the big one)...legal issues...and explaining this to our children...just to name a few.
Don't stick your head in the sand and believe you're immune to outside influences just because it may not bother you.
I read a recent article on Yahoo about Demi Lovato and some fashion choice she made. Evidently, DL is one of those 'fluid' people as the article kept saying 'they shaved their head' and 'they stated that they were going to...' and 'when asked about...they said...'. Confusing AF to try to make sense of the article with the plural pronouns and verbs being used in every sentence to describe what an individual person said, did, thought. Not that DL is remotely interesting but I was bored. Then after wading through the word salad, I was confused. Should have known better that to read a puff piece article on Yahoo but I must have been temporarily insane.
