I think "travel" can be defined in a few different ways. I hate the label " elite". I do think the right travel program who teaches and trains skills will help players. Playing 8th grade and flying around the country is stupid, calling yourself elite when you are 13 Is also stupid. If you are so elite how come there are forty teams that are also "elite".

I also agree at size and speed catch up with younger kids as they mature through highschool. But, while,u are growing you can still train develop good baseball skills and IQ
