I am driving in for the game Saturday from Northwest Arkansas. Mapquest is telling me to go from Memphis down to Tupelo, then West Point and back to Starkville. I would have thought I-55 down to Winona and over would be better. Any suggestions?
By the way, I will be the lone Bulldog fan right in the front of all the UPig fans cheering everytime State does anything.

I'm driving from SW MO and will gothrough Little Rock from there continue south on I-540 to Pine Bluff where 540 becomes Hwy65 continue on 65 to Lake Village. Stay straight in Lake Village (65 will go left/West) you will now be on 82 cross river and continue through G'ville, G'wood, and so forth and so on,I think you can findStarkvegasfrom there. These are all good roads and you can make good time through the delta, most all of this is now four lanes also.

It's faster to go the Tupelo route. The Lower Arkansas/Delta route is probably not bad either, but there's a lot of noncontrolled access 4-lane there, and DS can tell you how seriously they take speed limits on US 65. Just avoid all the stop lights and go through Memphis.

Just do no more than 5 mph above speed limit and you will be OK.

Memphis from the loop 12-15 miles down 78 toward Tupelo is a *****. Transport trucks and stop lights.

I lived in Little Rock for four years and I always went to Starkville via Memphis/Tupelo. The best way I found to get around Memphis was to take I55 from West Memphis to Nesbit, MS. In Nesbit, take exit 287, Church Rd, and go east (left turn) on Church Rd to MS305. Go north (left turn) on 305 for about a mile and you'll see US78. You've got it from there. Or try this easy to use map site on the interwebs:
