Ab. Exit 14, right at the bottom. Go 1/4 mile, then right (the right lane is the 'ramp' onto Main - has a yield sign, so be careful).
Go about a mile and turn left at the light past the trestle (careful - there's also a left turn lane there for a plaza; your light has 2 left turn lanes).
10 minutes or so to the light for 58 - at the bottom of a curve AND a hill.

If you have an iPhone, the maps app takes you that way. I punched it in from Roanoke to BSG on mine and that's the route that it gave me.

I have a good GPS, but have not punched address in yet.

I met a guy from BSG in Roanoke yesterday. He told me to take I 81 to Kingsport, TN and then go up to BSG that way.

BC didn't you go to the Gate City game last year. It is further but you could take 421 out of Bristol to 23 which will take you to BSG. You'll go thru GC.
There are many places to stay in Bristol as well a Bass Pro, and a new Cabela's

If I was Gretna's coach I would play Friday too. The kids go to school and leave early for the ride but at the same time it keeps them in football focus. I think spending the night in a hotel can hurt your team as far as kids staying up half the night horse playing and knowing the cheerleaders are right around the corner. I may be wrong but many think it took a toll on our guys last year at Gate City. Heard they came out flat like they were still asleep and talked to a few players that said they stayed up half the night horsing around.

Should leave Gretna at 8:30, go about halfway. Stop at some high school, do a light walk thru. Then continue on towards Big Stone Gap. At 3;30, you want to get into normal Friday routine. When you take field for pre game warm-ups, you don't want to feel like you just rode 4.5 hours on a bus.

I recall a team in Final 4 in basketball at Seigel Center a few years back. The coach chose to ride a school bus to Richmond because "they had been riding a school bus all season". They were one and done. I believe had they taken charter bus and allowed for better travel arrangments, that team could have won state championship.
