none of the other recruits made it. Vandy and Georgia have an impressive amount of recruits on there. <div>
</div><div>Edited to add: Southern Miss has 4 players on there. What the 17 is up with that? I know they are good, but thats more than most sec schools.</div>

Nobody really follows college baseball recruiting with the gusto of football and basketball. So honestly, it is hard for there to be a good cross section of ratings to really understand how a recruiting class works out.

8 consecutive regionals and they did well in the CWS last year. <div>This will positively affect recruiting.</div>

Their baseballprogram would probably be about in the middle of the SEC. It's certainly much better than MSU, UK or UT.About even with UM, UGA, Bama and Auburn.

I didn't see anyone that USM signed that deserved to be on that list. Having Luke Lowery ahead of Mason Robbins is a joke. And certainly having him ahead of Brandon Woodruff and Jacob Lindgren is a joke as well.

And Conner Barron is a good player, but top 100 in the country? No.

Heck, where is Hawtin Buchanan on that list? He is better than Lowery and Barron as well, not to mention Josh Laxer at Madison Central.

Those four- Buchanan, Laxer, Woodruff, and Lindgren- are all having tons of scouts watching them. Lowery and Barron are going to be four year college guys. And I would definately take Jonathan Holder over Barron as well.

has some big players on it.

I'd say 7 out of their starting 9 tonight would be the biggest player on MSU's team.

Their SS is 6'3"- that's a lot bigger than most college shortstops, or heck, that's bigger than most MLB SS's. They didn't seem to have a whole lot of team speed though, and I think we were more athletic- that helps in Trustmark Park because of the enormous outfield there.

in fact, Fitts fell out of the Perfect Game top 500 early this year. He probably didn't go to any of their showcases.

You don't get ranked well. Its kind of BS.

They do a good job of ranking guys that come to their showcases, but its a snapshot instead of scouting guys during their season.

A guy I trust that has seen more high school baseball than probably anyone on this board has told me that the best players in the state this year are Robbins, Buchanan, Laxer and Gohlson as far as the MLB draft. In that order. He thinks Robbins is a 4 tool talent, just lacking elite speed and that Golson has talent, but reminds him of Justin Reed who played at Hillcrest a few years ago with plus speed and defense and a good high school bat that may struggle adjusting to college and pro pitching. As for Buchanan and Laxer, both have thrown really well this year, both having plus fast balls, but still developing their offspeed stuff. Neither are top 5 round players so they probably will end up in college.

Im interested to see how Lindgren does at MSU I saw him pitch this year and he is one of those lefties that probably sits around 86-88 with movement. Just a great kid who is probably going to be a 4 year college guy, because I don't know if he will have MLB stuff, but I could see him as a Crouse type pitcher that just gets guys out.

It seems to me that both MSU and Ole Miss are struggling to sign high end high school hitters. Both teams need them badly. So far MSU has signed Norris and Bradford, but MSU had 5 seniors in their lineup last night, and Ole Miss had a lineup full of freshman and sophmores and couldn't do **** against a true freshman from Memphis. If both schools don't sign more hitters, they are going to be stuck in the bottom half of the SEC.

if MLB put out a ranking of some kind, but that's wishful thinking. They're not going to do anything that will give potential players leverage.

It was a little higher than I had expected, but seeing him up close and personal, he is the real deal and the best right handed pitcher that I've seen this year. Maybe the best righty in the state.
