You don't get ranked well. Its kind of BS.
They do a good job of ranking guys that come to their showcases, but its a snapshot instead of scouting guys during their season.
A guy I trust that has seen more high school baseball than probably anyone on this board has told me that the best players in the state this year are Robbins, Buchanan, Laxer and Gohlson as far as the MLB draft. In that order. He thinks Robbins is a 4 tool talent, just lacking elite speed and that Golson has talent, but reminds him of Justin Reed who played at Hillcrest a few years ago with plus speed and defense and a good high school bat that may struggle adjusting to college and pro pitching. As for Buchanan and Laxer, both have thrown really well this year, both having plus fast balls, but still developing their offspeed stuff. Neither are top 5 round players so they probably will end up in college.
Im interested to see how Lindgren does at MSU I saw him pitch this year and he is one of those lefties that probably sits around 86-88 with movement. Just a great kid who is probably going to be a 4 year college guy, because I don't know if he will have MLB stuff, but I could see him as a Crouse type pitcher that just gets guys out.
It seems to me that both MSU and Ole Miss are struggling to sign high end high school hitters. Both teams need them badly. So far MSU has signed Norris and Bradford, but MSU had 5 seniors in their lineup last night, and Ole Miss had a lineup full of freshman and sophmores and couldn't do **** against a true freshman from Memphis. If both schools don't sign more hitters, they are going to be stuck in the bottom half of the SEC.
