November 22, 1963 ....... Kennedy assassination in Dallas.

1) Kennedy's trip to Dallas was part of an effort to mend the fences between two rival political factions within the Texas Democratic Party as they entered the 1964 election. Who were the leaders of the two sides ?
2) Oswald carried a package to work with him on this day. What did he claim was in the package ?
3) Who (what individual) supposedly came up with the "Magic Bullet" theory ?
4) Why did Ruby go to downtown Dallas on Sunday morning ? Note -- this put him near the Dallas Police headquarters when Oswald was being moved to the regular county jail.
5) One of the first and most important books challenging the Warren Commission conclusion that Oswald was the sole assassin was "Rush to Judgement" by ____?_____ .
Super duper bonus question) In 1979 the House Committee on Assassinations gave some credence to the notion that there may have been a second gunman in Dealey Plaza. What was the basis of their conclusion ?
1) Senator Yarborough was the leader of the more liberal side of the Texas Democratic Party ... and .. Governor Connally headed the more conservative faction. They couldn't stand each other.
2) curtain rods
3) Arlen Specter - was a Federal (?) prosecutor in Philadelphia and became a key staff member of Warren Commission. He later became a Senator from Pennsylvania.
4) Jack Ruby's business was a strip club -- such as they were at the time. He went down to the Western Union office Sunday morning to wire money to one of his dancers to cover bus fare so she could get back to Dallas from wherever she was. The Western Union office was right next to the Dallas Police HQ where the transfer of Oswald was taking place.
By chance Ruby walked into the police building garage about one minute before Oswald and his police escort came down to get into their car. All this happened about 45 minutes after the publicly announced time that Oswald would be moved. At the original scheduled time to move Oswald Ruby was still in the Western Union office. So, it's hard to square the notion that Ruby was some planted Mafia assassin with the facts that his timing was pure happenstance.
5) Mark Lane
Super duper) They found an audio recording from the radio mike of a Dallas police officer. According to the scientists who studied this there were 4 sounds captured on this recording that were gun fire. Four shots meant there had to be another shooter in addition to Oswald.
Several years later a re-examination of this evidence showed that the particular motorcycle cop with the open mike was much further down the street than the first studies assumed. They did this by linking up the Zapruder film and other pictures of the events as they unfolded. Whatever rifle shot (?) sounds the first outfit thought they were picking up happened after Kennedy had been shot.
