Yeah I remember Air Force bringing JV team to Lincoln to play the NU freshmen, but I don’t remember the year.Freshman team late 80s ?
That's it. The JV or freshman team.Yeah I remember Air Force bringing JV team to Lincoln to play the NU freshmen, but I don’t remember the year.
I never heard it referred to as a JV team . Not sure what 247 was talking about. Pretty sure Nebraska played only freshman in those games. That's it. The JV or freshman team.
'Nebraska would play one more junior varsity game in 1993, against the Air Force Academy. Tom Osborne scheduled the game as a favor to Air Force coach Fisher DeBerry."
I mention it because a lot of our posters didn't know or remember we had a freshman team. Back then, most guys would play on the freshman team, then redshirt, then backup a RS soph and hopefully start their last two years. I tried to follow the freshman/JV but the internet was not yet available to the public.
How It Was: Remembering NU's JV
Back in earlier days early 80s KSu, Uno and South Dakota all had jv/ frosh teams that played each other. Unos team was 80-90 percent freshmen .they consistently beat ksu in those days .That's it. The JV or freshman team.
