Without looking, I’ll guess 1974. I think I remember a game with the Falcons in that era.

Eh - I’m off by quite a bit. Good question.

Yeah I remember Air Force bringing JV team to Lincoln to play the NU freshmen, but I don’t remember the year.
That's it. The JV or freshman team.

'Nebraska would play one more junior varsity game in 1993, against the Air Force Academy. Tom Osborne scheduled the game as a favor to Air Force coach Fisher DeBerry."

I mention it because a lot of our posters didn't know or remember we had a freshman team. Back then, most guys would play on the freshman team, then redshirt, then backup a RS soph and hopefully start their last two years. I tried to follow the freshman/JV but the internet was not yet available to the public.

I never heard it referred to as a JV team . Not sure what 247 was talking about. Pretty sure Nebraska played only freshman in those games.

Back in earlier days early 80s KSu, Uno and South Dakota all had jv/ frosh teams that played each other. Unos team was 80-90 percent freshmen .they consistently beat ksu in those days .

Rhule would have loved to be able to replace a jv Air Force team in place of Tennessee so he could pad his stats in his 4 th year with an 8 million dollar salary and try to tell everyone we are back. Hopefully he wouldn’t have to pay them a million and pay the team he ducked out of another million while complaining that we don’t have enough NIL money to compete against the big boys……while the teams he was paying were getting more NIL money……from us. But hey! We looked good!
