I think that is an awfully big promotion for him. I would think he would have to move up to a coordinator position before making the jump to associate head coach. I am all for it though if that is what they want. Bring Guy Morris back for a couple years to help with the offensive line. He is already in Lexington.

Schlarman coaches Oline why would Neal want him if the guy he is replacing coached tight ends? The guy Neal brings in wouldn't have to be an associate head coach that's just a title coaches are given to justify paying them more money. I think Mainord is probably the assistant that is most likely to be asked to leave. Neal may hire him if he's looking for a job. There's a lot of overlap in coaching receivers and tight ends. Mainord was Neal's eye in the sky at Texas Tech so I'm sure he'd love to have him back
