Afternoon Bulldog fans....Just wanted to stop by and see how many of you guys are making the trip out the the "Walled City". This should be a fun game this weekend. Let me know if you need opinions on good places to eat around town and such. A little facts about our Team. This is the 3rd Big 6 School to come to Troy. The other two being #17 Missouri in 2004 and Oklahoma State in 2007. Both of those teams did lose in Troy. Im sure you guys remember our meeting in the early 00s in Troys infancy in D1. Both of our programs have changed from those times and im expecting MANY more points to be on the board. Especially with our crummy defense.

Tickets are selling fast. Word is theres only a couple thousand tickets left. The Stadium only holds about 33k so if your coming call and order your tickets now.

How many points do you think Troy can score? Some are calling this potentially MSU's best defense ever.

I think we match up well with Troy. We lead FBS in turnover margin and Troy coughs the ball up a lot it appears. If we get a lead, it looks like Troy will throw the ball a lot as they did against ULL last week, which I think plays to our strengths defensively. We have a good pass rusher in Autry and our secondary is VERY good with Banks, Wells, Whitley, Broomfield, and Slay.

Not sure to be honest....Last year the SUCKED. and many people are calling for our DC and OC heads.....It really depends. Usually offensively we do well. But I think we will score at minimum 20 something points.

Troy plays VERY well usually. According to Phil Steele Troy has the 5th Best home record in all of college football, Behind Boise State, Ohio State, Oklahoma etc.

Turnovers are KEY for us....We had a aweful game with Louisiana last week, Turned it over 3 times. Take the 3 turnovers out and we may have won that game.

Our new Defensive Tackles Coach Julius Brown is new to us this year from Boise State. He Stressed that if we did not get 3 Turnovers from UAB in our first game of the season they would run 10 laps for every turnover they did not get. Needless to say we got the 3 turnovers.

Yes, give me the spill on some things to do before the game in Troy, as well as some good places to stay within an hour or so of Troy Saturday night.

I hope they like laps next week.

I've watched Troy in both of their games, and I like a lot of what I see on offense. You've got a good, scrappy QB and some speed. You will score a few times against a tough MSU D.

Your D should cause you some great concern, because I saw a lot of holes and wide open receivers against ULL. We will put up some good numbers if we play smart and don't turn the ball over.

I look forward to a fun game in a good atmosphere.

Hotels IN TROY Courtyard marriott, Hampton Inn, Best western etc...Those hotels are probably sold out and are a minimum of 2 night stay and super expensive for this game....I would say drive 40mins North To montgomery and stay there or 45mins south to Dothan...

Restaurants, The Half Shell for seafood is GREAT. Manarkas for Mexican food is the best in town. Then you have several sit down chain restaurants in town.

There is a Zip line in TROY that i hear is a lot of fun, a Pioneer Museum, Movie Theater. Its a small town much like your town but the University is BEAUTIFUL. one of the best looking campuses in the country in my opinion. Tailgating will be good.

You won't score 20. 10 maybe. And Jeremy it's only been two games so it's way to early to give them that title as best ever but I don't ever remember seeing as talented a secondary as the one that we have right now. The pass rush is the question. I'll save best ever title awards till after the season but they have the potential no doubt. There's like 8 NFL players in the starting 11.

I thought I remembered Nebraska visiting Troy, but I must have remembered wrong.

As I recall, the last time we met was in about '01, there was a tornado warning and very heavy rain at Scott Field, and you guys blew us out in the 2nd half.

Its up to you. Dothan is a much larger city and more to do than in Greenville....Both cities are about the same distance.....TROY is a larger city than Greenville tho...

And theres no way you guys hold us to less than 10 points at home...Ill bet money on that one. No SEC team has ever held TROY to such few points.

Greenville is probably 45mins away and is quick access to I65....Dothan is a much larger city than greenville. But its up to you....TROY is even a larger city than Greenville. Dothan is one of the larger citys in Alabama.

And theres no way MSU holds TROY to less than 10 points at home....Heck theres no SEC team that had held TROY to less than 20 at their place much less at our house....Arkansas Last year nearly got knocked off by us.

You sound like one of the ten Southern Miss fans. I'm not going to get in a **** talking contest with a Troy fan, but I would not be surprised if you guys scored 10 or less.....but my prediction is 45-17 MSU.

Yeah, to find the last time TROY was held to 10 points at home, you have to go all the way back to October, 2011. By ULM.

We start back in 2014....but to answer your question, it's a lose lose for us. Kinda like it would be for Bama or Auburn to play you.

I'm guessing it's because ULM just beat Arkansas and the entire nation that isn't an SEC fan is using that to knock down the SEC. Doesn't matter that Arkansas fired their coach, have an interim that's a moron and their quarterback left the game with a concussion. All that matters is the SEC lost to ULM. I'm glad Arkansas lost to ULM too Mr. Troy fan. Oh and it'll be 7 NC in a row after the SEC wins again this year so who gives a 17 about an OOC loss? Those will happen. The SEC or no conference can win 100% of all non conference games. If they did why would we still play? It's why college football destroys the NFL imo. David can still beat Goliath in college. With 124 teams in the FBS there's bound to be atleast one big upset a week.

Is this not an opinion? You didn't keep it to yourself.

Yes thats just me defending my school....But im not hear to knock on MSU.....Yes you guys should beat us this Saturday...But there is that factor of Maybe. We tend to play the SEC boys hard history shows. Im saying to be surprised if its a close game.

Our Conference mate ULM made Arkansas look silly last weekend. Its not the same Sun Belt Conference of 5-10 years ago.
