True Maroon game…

I apologize if this has been discussed (I've been away from the board for a while). I heard today that the reasoning for having a maroon out for an early season game, knowing that it will be scorching hot, was simply because concern was raised over a whiteout being received as racist. I thought that was interesting. </p>

i was a part of the planning of this event and i guarantee you that is a ridiculous rumor, the main reasons for it being this game was that we knew there would be a ton of excitement and it would be received well by the student body, which it has, and that it is hot and people will wear a T-shirt, and that the athletic dept want to set a precedent of wearing maroon to every game of the season, except of course for the white out..

I'm sure we'll be accused of some sort of racism after the JSU game is over, might as well be a whiteout. That would at least be somewhat humorous.

I will be wearing white. Mainly because I found a white shirt with the new logo on it last week and secondly, it'll be HOT outside. I got too fat for my maroon gameday shirt.</p>
