Are we seeing the end of PGA golf in Ms? Watching on the Golf Channel and there appears to be more people on the course playing than watching in the gallery.....

These people have given a hell of an effort over the years but this one will have to "do it"!

They can't go another year without a title sponsor, and I don't see anyone stepping up. C-Spire should do it, but they should have done it this year too so I don't have much hope they'll change their decision for next year.

I still wish they would change the dates and give them a better shot at some of the upper level players. They would really have to up the ante as far as the winner's check goes, but with a big name sponsor, that could happen.

That will have to happen for the tournament to be much of a success. Playing opposite the British Open means no big names there, plus people are home watching the Open.

How do they pay the purse with no sponsor? It has to be awfully expensive and disruptive for the host golf club. They've had lower level (Nike and Hooters) tournaments here, but they were dropped for those reasons.

I know the LPGA is really having trouble getting sponsors in today's economy, and it looks like that's happening with the PGA too.
