So that's the excuse now? And I guess he was joking when talking about Corpse Men. o_O

I'm no fan of Trump. Other than the SCOTUS, there's no reason why I would want him in the WH over anyone else, but as I have said time and time again you can't run his words through the same filter that you do normal politicians. This whole "Andrew Jackson" thing, petty ******** semantics. What should be more important is not his framing on how Jackson would have felt about the Civil War, but the type of man Jackson was and why Trump would relate to him.

I'm not making an excuse ... clearly somebody with Obama's background knows there are only 50 states, but people speak in those terms frequently when discussing an itinerary.

Trump on the other hand show his ignorance of everything with every word he speaks. I'm not going to apply a special filter for him ... shouldn't have to ... he should be able to articulate his thoughts clearly. Like any intelligent person can.

So Obama can play loose with words, but Trump can't? Riiiight..... [thumbsup]

At the end of the day, if you people keep spending every waking moment analyzing the **** Trump says... you'll drive yourself insane. Instead, focus on what HE DOES.

It bothers me more that he sees himself as another Jackson than what he said about Jackson.

No, that's not the case at all ... One is a rather common way to discuss itinerary and the other is just another in a long example of ignorant statements.

If you want to focus on what he does instead of what he says ... then you can look at how he acted before he had meetings with people and how he acts after and how it changes his position to realize how ignorant he's been of everything.

The fact that he sees himself in that way barely even registers with me anymore because I learned long ago that how he sees himself is a greatly inflated view of reality. For that matter you are basing how he sees himself based on what he's said. :) When the cameras are off and he's alone, neither one of us really knows how he sees himself. :)

The only thing that drives me insane is the number of people that refuse to see through his bluster and realize he can't do the job and was never even remotely qualified or even had much of an idea of what the job really was.

I do pay more attention to what he's done in the past and not what he says. It's why I'd never vote for him. I understand though that a vast majority of the things that come out of his mouth are not to be taken literally, and that privately he's probably a different person.

Now, whether or not he can do the job.... we still don't know. He's only 100 days in.

That's fair ... I'm just not all that hopeful given what we've seen so far of how little understanding he has of how our government works and our relationship with the rest of the world and their relationships with each other. Maybe he'll learn.

One point where I think he is showing to be a collosal failure is the one thing that I thought was going to be the most important trait of the incoming POTUS ... but neither of the final two major party candidates came close to fitting that bill ... and that was to help bridge the gap and bring sides closer together instead of farther apart.

It's about time these relationships morphed into something much different. I think he knows that and I think he's working to change that.
