President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he would be issuing an order next week aimed at keeping the American people safe, as his temporary ban on travel from seven Muslim-majority countries remains kept on hold by a federal court.

"We will be issuing a new and very comprehensive order to protect our people," Trump said at a news conference.

Woo hooo! I feel so unsafe right now.
I'm scared.

I would suggest you travel to San Bernandino or Orlando and tell them their fears are overblown. Perhaps, NYC.

I don't think you have a clue how many plots the FBI has foiled over the years.

I normally have you on ignore but I'm glad I saw this response.

The Sen Bernadino male shooter was born in America.
The shooter at the Orlando night club was born in America.

Since 1975, immigrants from the 7 muslim-majority countries on the travel ban in Trump's Executive Order have committed zero murders on US soil. Zero.

Not just refugees, but all immigrants? Bullcrap.

There have been zero fatal terror attacks on U.S. soil since 1975 by immigrants from the seven Muslim-majority countries President Donald Trump targeted with immigration bans on Friday, further highlighting the needlessness and cruelty of the president’s executive order.

Between 1975 and 2015, foreign nationals from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen killed exactly zero Americans on U.S. soil, according to an analysis of terror attacks by the Cato Institute.

Moreover, a report released this week shows that Muslim Americans with family backgrounds in those seven countries have killed no Americans over the last 15 years.

Who was the San Bernandino shooter's wife? Where was she from? Who was radicalized first?

Charles Kurzman, a sociology professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, says his research shows no Americans have been killed in the U.S. at the hands of people from the seven countries — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Sudan and Yemen — since Sept. 11. But it’s not quite right to say no one from those nations has been arrested or accused in an extremist-related plot while living in the U.S.

As for the 7 countries on Obama and Trump's list:

From the Seattle Times:

In addition to the cases from last fall, for instance, two men from Iraq were arrested in Kentucky in 2011 and convicted on charges that they plotted to send money and weapons to al-Qaida.

They were never accused, though, of plotting attacks on the U.S. Last week, Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway wrongly cited their case as a “Bowling Green massacre,” which never happened.

All told, Kurzman said, 23 percent of Muslim Americans involved with extremist plots since Sept. 11 had family backgrounds from the seven countries.

Since the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, dozens of people from the seven countries on President Donald Trump’s “travel ban” list have been convicted on charges of terrorism, a new report reveals.

According to a report from the Center for Immigration Studies, 72 people from Somalia, Sudan, Iraq, Yemen, Iran, Syria and Libya have been convicted on terrorism charges since 9/11. The finding stands in stark contrast to the liberal narrative, which says there is “no evidence” to prove that people from the seven countries are a risk to the United States or U.S. citizens.

Of the 72 people, the study found that 17 entered as refugees, three as students, one on a diplomatic visa while 10 were lawful permanent residents and 25 eventually became U.S. citizens.

The breakdown of convictions per country is:

  • Somalia: 20
  • Yemen: 19
  • Iraq: 19
  • Syria: 7
  • Iran: 4
  • Libya: 2
  • Sudan: 1
More from the Center for Immigration Studies:

Thirty-three of the 72 individuals from the seven terror-associated countries were convicted of very serious terror-related crimes, and were sentenced to at least three years imprisonment. The crimes included use of a weapon of mass destruction, conspiracy to commit a terror act, material support of a terrorist or terror group, international money laundering conspiracy, possession of explosives or missiles, and unlawful possession of a machine gun.

The center based their findings on a 2016 report from the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, which was chaired by then-Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), and found that of the 580 people convicted on terrorism charges since 9/11, 380 of them are foreign-born. The subcommittee reportedly had to use open source data because the Obama administration refused to provide immigration data.

Trump’s immigration and executive order originally sought to temporarily halt the U.S. refugee resettlement program for 120 days so his administration could implement a plan for “extreme vetting.” The order also temporarily barred travelers from those seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S. for 90 days.

However, a federal judge earlier in February put a temporary stay on Trump’s order, which effectively ended the government’s implementation of it. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld that decision on Thursday.

It’s not clear what the administration’s next move will be, but Center for Immigration Studies’ report makes it clear that there is evidence to prove that terrorism has come to America via the seven countries on Trump’s “travel ban.”

Taking them longer to prepare a second EO than it did for them to rush the first EO. Hopefully, lessons were learned and hopefully new vetting guidelines are already being worked out.

I would imagine a two pronged strategy. The first are the new EO's to comply with the deeply flawed 9th Circuit ruling. The second will be to take the ruling to SCOTUS once Gorsuch is seated. In my opinion, the 9th will be struck down yet again.

  • Like he released his taxes
  • Like he had charges brought against HRC
  • Like he repealed ACA his first day in office
  • Like he has provided evidence of widespread voter fraud that cost him the popular vote
  • Like his team had no contact with the Russians

1. No obligation to release taxes. Statement has been made already.
2. I would pardon HRC because the House has just asked DOJ to convene Grand Jury to go after all those involved. People will start singing like birds. She has suffered enough. Pardon her.
3. Personally, I want Obamacare to die on its own. But Ryan said last evening repeal and replace will happen this year.
4. Voter fraud exists. How big, we will find out since investigation is just being started. We do know from a recent report that over 1.5M illegals were registered to vote.
5. Contact far different than corruption or law breaking. If you really are interested in an American politician desperately trying to use the Soviets to undermine a U.S. election, I suggest you read this:

I still don't see why they would need to take it to the SC?

Because they can't let this precedent stand, Imo. SCOTUS has ruled on this before. The 9th Circuit did not cite that law in its ruling. SCOTUS will not be happy. SCOTUS has been extremely deferential to Presidents when the National Security of the country is at issue. They have given Presidents wide latitude for a reason. They don't sit in on daily Presidential Briefings. They don't sit in on NSA meetings. They don't know the dangers and potential dangers like the President does. Trump needs for SCOTUS to put the 9th Circuit and all other Circuits on notice to apply the law.

What part of "US soil" is too difficult for you to understand?

Our Embassies overseas are considered a part of U.S. Soil countryroads89. And why have you never answered my question about if immigration into this country should be limited?

If so why? By how much?

Or do you favor open borders, so anyone from anywhere can come in here whenever they want? If so Why? If not, why not?

Would you prefer we all put you on ignore countryroads89? Would it be better for you if everyone just didn't read what you post?

ATL, it's what modern libs do. They shut down speech they don't like (or in this case put their fingers in their ears and run to mommy). They do it on campuses, not just students, but faculty and administrators. They set up safe rooms. They want trigger warnings. I have actually offered to provide libs with trigger warnings but no one has taken me up on that offer.

That's why old style liberals like David Rubin are abandoning the modern liberals. He believes they are becoming fascists with no respect for the First or Second Amendment (religious liberty or guns for that matter). He also believes they don't respect the individual anymore nor champion the causes of the lower and middle class Americans. He believes they are captured by identity politics and it is moving the party ever leftward.

I love the way countryroads89 and a few others love to boast how they've put you PAX or someone else on "ignore" only to chime in at their whim to pass a little Leftist flatus onto the board, then run off after stinkin' up the joint.

If you are afraid to debate and defend your perspective, then seeking shelter in a safe room (or using the ignore function) is probably a good choice for them.
