The firing/quitting thing has to be planned. Trump is a media manipulator and his fortune shows he isn't stupid. He lives through cable and network news stations. They can't get enough of them and Trump knows this. Always breaking juicey tabloid-esque stories on weekends, then going into interviews etc. when the Monday morning cycle starts again to change the subject to some rallying call on national television. Rinse and repeat.

Americans are addicted to television and media. He generates hits and all important neilson ratings to the television stations who cover him. The news channels and sites can't afford to drop him. He is media gold and knows how to manipulate the average uneducated American vegetable.

As for Trump's supporters, are any under the age of 45? He appeals to the middle and lower class, 'Nam hatin' Individual from the days gone by who actually spoke their mind like that (meaning their word is their word). Revenge of the Seniors might I say. One final push against the bra burning hippies that have assumed leadership positions.

Like Trump or not, the reason he is taking over the polls is because he doesn't give a damn about political correctness, unlike every other candidate in the field from either party. I haven't yet decided who to support in 2016, but like most Americans I'm tired of career politicians spoon feeding us lies, promising one thing and doing another. Trump connects because he says what he believes and lets the pieces fall where they may. No pre-prescribed party platform for him. Party officials on both sides are so dead set against Trump because he isn't one of the insiders......they don't know how to deal with someone who didn't spend a lifetime learning how to fool the public. And neither party offers a candidate capable of challenging a proven leader such as Trump. With Trump you know what you're getting - the others, not so much.

I see it quite the opposite. I have no idea what I'm getting with Trump. As of now, he is all hot air. He has yet to get into specifics on a single aspect of his platform (I'm not even sure I know what that is at this point). Trump is all sound bite and zero substance. If what you want is someone who is just gonna talk **** and not back anything up. Trump is your man. He is basically talking to the rubes who don't know anything about leading but more importantly, anything about managing.

Trump is a disgrace to the process, the party, and the office he is running for.

Mark this down, if it's between Hillary and Trump, I'm not voting. I can't support either of them.

Trump is a businessman, and as much as I can't stand him, he is very successful and knows how things work. Is it possible that he is doing this to GUARANTEE that the Democrats win 2016? Why would he do that? Perhaps he believes that the Democrats policies or platforms for 2016 would better fit his businesses?

I agree. I was a year short of being able to vote in that election, but I remember thinking that Bentsen came off much better than Dukakis during that election cycle. I should also note that Bentsen was being compared to Quayle, so he may not have faired as well versus Bush. At least it would have been a fair fight, and Dukakis might have been a better match up for Quayle in a debate.
